Well, I wanted to make it simple for now.

    A pirate adventure, thing.

You're a pirate under the command of a pirate captain, which I have no name of yet.

The captain and his crew, and you, just found a ancient temple. Being a pirate gang, you're raiding that temple.

The captain found a glowing medallion. The moment he removed it from the pedestal, he woke up a terrifying evil spirit lord.

The lord killed everyone in sight. You, were hiding during the spree. When you came out of hiding, you see everyone dead. And the ship destroyed.

The natives explained to you that the lord was a ancient god who wanted revenge on the humans, and you needed to find the other four ancient temple, get a piece of a weapon from each temple, then forge them into a weapon, which should be able to kill the lord.

You build a raft and sets out for the closest port to figure a way from world destruction.
Though this is a pretty interesting idea, I honestly find it rather too unrealistic. Why didn't the natives stopped the pirates whilst freeing the spirit? Why does the spirit lord wants revenge on humans?
  2. The natives were captured by the pirates. You fred them after the crew was killed, since there was no reason to keep them captive anymore.

The lord was once the ancient god of the world, but beame hateful towards the ungrateflness of the humans. An attempt to kill  him failed, but they succeeded in sealing him. The weapon that was used in the attempt broke. The native chieftains each took a part of the weapon and hid them in their temples.

Simple stuff. And that I followed some of the steps Risen 2 took, hoping I would learn something.

Though, I considered making the player and the crew a exploration team rather than pirates.
  3. Hmmm, an idea I had recently while making my game.

You hire a ship and sail out to seas.

After defeating four pirate ships, a giant seamonster appears that swallows the ship whole.

The main character wakes up in the belly of the beast alone, and thus has to recover his party before he can find a way out.

I am not sure how he`ll escape though. I am contemplating that he finds a barrel of gunpowder from the ship and uses that to make an exit.

That sounds like a stage, or a chapter of a game.

How aboutt he classic Disney Pinnochio, where you lit up a campfire and the monster sneezes? :V

If your game goes silly that way, of course. More serious games, that won't work as much.
  5. Well, yes, it is pretty much a stage, or a chapter within the game.

I wouldn't call the game directly silly, though I poke fun at some things from here to there.

Lemme show you a picture on how I imagine it.

    seamonster.png
  6. Oh, that is a neat idea. Of course, it'd be nice if you could shape it a bit more, and perhaps give us a bit more depth? It's a nice, barebone skeleton of what's going to occur. Perhaps you could say what exactly it is that you want critique on?

What's the reason behind what happens? Is this section of the game relatively different to the rest of the game? There's not much you can do with the 'inside a seamonster' without retreading over covered ground. Perhaps a boss battle against one of the seamonster's organs, causing it to cough the party back out again?
  7. So far I have gone with the idea a friend put for me.

Within the belly of the beast, there are a band of pirates who was swallowed a long time ago. They are not likely to share any of their loot with you, and thus you have to defeat them first to go further.

The ship of the captain is rather ironclad as to survive the stomach acids.

in the belly of beast 1.png

in the belly of beast 2.png

To progress through the stomach, you hit various fleshy nerve-endings to make the stomach acids go up and down.

I have considered to make the group fight against some organs, (Thalzon had a heart battler that I found quite interesting.) yet, I am not sure how the group will find said organ.

I am not really sure what I wanted critique on. It was more of a "oooh, I got an idea, I wanna share that."

Still, I am not sure how to tie in the giant ship eating monster with the rest of my plot. Maybe the pirates in the stomach could be recruitable to the protagonists army that they have been building.

Saga Frontier actually did this. The game's universe is divided into (poorly explained) pocket worlds called "regions" segregated by a vast void ("region space") that is traversed with ships. There's a legendary monster that exists within region space that eats ships whole, and if the player gets swallowed they'll meet a group of pirates attempting to subjugate newcomers. Among other things the player must learn to traverse the biology of the monster, and fight its organs. You may want to look there for inspiration.
  9. Hum, I have never heard about the game, but I guess I can see if I find something about it.

Too bad it's not available in Europe though. Maybe I can find a ROM of it.
  10. It's worth the ~20 bucks off amazon if you have a PS. It's a pretty solid game, albeit one suffering from some flaws (like being unfinished, for one).

If you're just interested in how they incorporate the giant, ship swallowing monster, here's a few videos.

The first one has a playthrough of the character traveling to and being swallowed by the monster, as well as a trek through its inner dungeon. The latter has a fight against an organ.
  11. Hmm, I don't have a PS, thanks for posting the videos though.

Say, you wouldn't happen to know how to make an ogg video?

    Thanks for the feedback guys.
  12. Feedback needed for untitled RPG.

Hi guys, I have just joined the community and frankly I think it was a good decision. Seen some great stuff here already and lots of helpful people around.

So lets get to it. We have been working on our RPG story for sometime now. Me and the others are all old school gamer's and draw some of our inspiration from games back in the 90's.

    THE STORY

Our hero is a 17 year old who has just left school. He decides to join the military like his grandfather before him who was a recognized hero. He is accompanied by his best friend who also joins the military. On the first day as they arrive they see a senator walking towards them falls to the ground, he has a heart attack and passes a file to our hero and instructs him to take it to the senators father but before he could give the name he dies. The hero is too distort and puts the file in his bag. After more soldiers arrive along with the captain who begins to question the two, they carry on to their post. Both are really shocked by what happened and remain quite while working. After sometime the alarms start to ring and they see what seems to be a person who has broken in to the base. So the hero chases this person and they fight but before the hero could strike a finisher this fighter tricks the hero and breaks for an escape. This person does remove their mask revealing the Identity. The person also tells the hero how the government is evil and that the sun is dying.

Before any further dialogue can take place the captain arrives with soldiers who chase this person. The hero heads off home eventually at the end of the day and while sleeping he remembers the person from the base. He wakes up and recalls that he has a file he forgot to hand is so goes to his bag and reads it. This is where he discovers that sun is dying and that it would create a super flare so powerful all technology will be destroyed. He reads that the sun will implode within the next few months. This really shakes him. In the morning he goes to his friends house and explains what he read, The friend does not believe it so our hero gives him the file. He too is shocked. They both begin searching for the person who broke into the base and inquire about what this person said regarding the sun dying. The story matches the one in the file. Since he is a soldier he still believes his loyalty is to the military so does not hand over the file to this person.

He does however start to think. He is also told of a ship that is being prepared on a distant planet which will be used to take all the rich and powerful people away and that the government has no plans to save anyone else. This disturbs him as it is what he read in the file too. Determined to save his family he agrees to help and sets off on an adventure to hijack the ship. He goes home to explain to his family and when he goes home he looks up and notices that the sun looks different.

He tells his family and shows them the file. They are also shocked and question the hero on what they should do. He explains about the ship but before he could go any further everything electronic stops working. Everyone is confused and our hero realizes that the governments time frame calculations were wrong.

He begins to sob and feels defeated. He wanted to save his family after all. When he looks at his grandfather he sees him smiling. So naturally he inquires who he is smiling and the grandfather tells him a story from when he was around the same age. He explains how his father had found something the government didn't know about. Something called the Archaic Gate. He explained  that every planet had one and it would be a teleport to the next planet and how the architects had used them during the construction of the system. There was only one problem. No one knew where it was as no one had seen it except for his great grandfather who died before giving the cords out. The hero takes all the evidence and notes from his grandfather and heads to the base where everything is just crazy in all the chaos. He uses the military computers and inputs the data he found and gets some signs for the gates location. So he tells his family and decides to go and search the location.

As he used the military computer the government also has the location but they don't know what it is so they too set off to see what they could find. The hero takes his best friend and goes to the bandit who broke in previously. The three of them make their way to the gate. When they arrive they see it and walk close. None of them know how it works and then the hero touches it and it opens. When the three wake up they are on the next planet, they are really excited as they had discovered a way to save people from the destruction that was soon to follow.

They start their search for the second gate and find it soon after. Eventually they get to the last planet where the ship is being prepared. They decide to go back through the teleports and bring their families. When they get back they see that the planet has already started to destabilize and that lots of people had died. They take their loved ones to the teleport and start their journey to the last planet again. When they arrive they see that the government is already there and also that the super flare has reached this planet too. This means that the ship is useless.

Once again the hero feels defeated. He had already lost so much. The day draws to a close and all you hear is chaos and panic. The hero falls asleep shortly afterwards and while sleeping he has a vision of an architect instructing him of another gate, an ancient gate that is located on this planet. He is also told that he has very little time. So he wakes up and takes his loved ones to the gate. When they get their he activates it and they go through. The sun implodes as they are doing this and when they get through he is the last one so he sees the world die behind him. This new place they are in seems fresh.

They realize that this world is in a different system. They have unknown creatures and people who look like them. When they get to a town they realize that this would would be almost 700 years in the past.

The story continues with our hero and one someone from the group becoming enemies here and how they forge two great empires. This aspect is derived from Suikoden II. The world they are in now has energy nodes known as lotus spheres who act almost like a battery but are powered by the sun. These will be used to power some medieval / futuristic style weapons and machines. They also have a strong connection with magic in this world and mage also use the power from these lotus spheres.

Please let me know if there is more you wish to find out. I  hope you enjoyed the story.

    "World of Darkness"

I am a bit far off forming getting the game off the ground, but I have a good idea of the cast of playable characters and an "idea" of a good story. I am looking to help adding depth, emotion and double checking for cliches, etc.

    Story Summary

    A young adventure named Ezreal traveling on a privateer ship cashes during a storm, he finds himself beach and from there starts his adventure and ends up joined by a knight of the kingdom off to stop the Cult of Caine. Throughout the story the party will grow, adding;

Lux - A young lively girl who is full of wanderlust and excitement. "What is that it is so shinny!"

Onyx - An ancient and wise Stonekin from Wars and Worlds past. "We are nomads, we move from one mountain to another. Why? You ask? Because it is a different mountain."

Wyck - A Garou of old legends, beast of nightmares "Werewolf". "Your people killed my people I'll help you for now, but sleep with one eye open."

Garen - Honorable and loyal Knight of the Kingdom. "I will lay down my life for my kingdom and its people."

Master Yu - Old Master of the Martial Arts. "Live isn't about the destination, it is about the people you are with and the journey you are on."

Fiora - Mysterious and Dark, she might know more than you think. "If you don't shut up and listen to me your going to get us all killed."

As the party the grows the story will unfold as the Kingdom is under attack by the underground force known as the Cult of Caine who are trying to break the seals to the Umbra, so they can free the Host of Darkness, the thing of nightmares, the father of all evil.

The story is going to pull from the World of Darkness realm, which is a Pen & Paper RPG system I used to play when I younger. The story follows the group as the are banded together through; friendship, love, lost, need, greed, or simple convince, to stop the Cult of Cane and its leaders from freeing the Master of Darkness. The group will make stops over all the world to save ancient artifacts and seals from destruction while learning about the history of the world and mysteries it holds.

"Caine's capacities are outside the ability of the Storyteller system to model, it is reasonable to assume that he has mastered the Disciplines of Animalism, Auspex, Celerity, Dominate, Fortitude, Obfuscate, Potency  and Protean; but he is not limited to just these powers. Basically, whatever Caine wants to do, Caine can do."

  14. TOtW: The Tower of Phantoms

    Genre: Fantasy

    Atmosphere: Lonely, rather haunting

"The game opens with the player's Hero (the player picks their race, gender and name) having a conversation in their dream with an unseen entity. The entity tells the Hero that a trial looms in their future and to be ready for it. The entity then leaves and the Hero wakes up to find them self aboard a slave airship. The airships captain, a woman named Charlotte, tells the Hero that her raiders captured them and that they are on their way to the market to be sold. She then leaves, having to attend to the wheel, after mocking the Hero a bit.  Awhile later, the ship is struck by something and one of the engines explodes, causing the airship to shutter and then begin to fall from the sky, crashing into the stormy ocean below and causing the Hero to black out. When the Hero wakes up again, they find themself on a strange island, surrounded by wreckage from the crash that washed up with them. Finding some clothes and usable weapons among the wreckage, the Hero ventures from the beach deeper into the island’s forest in search of either a way off the island or for shelter from the storm that is raging.

As they player explores the island, they eventually come upon a strange pair of doors, set into the side of a rock pit. The Hero deactivates the trap that guards the door and enters into a series of tunnels and caverns beyond, eventually fighting off a ancient creature that guards a shrine. Having slayed the Guardian, the Hero prays at one of the three shrines alters (which picks the Hero's class) and then continues on through the caverns that lead out beyond the shrine. Eventually emerging on the other side of the caverns, the Hero finds that they are now in the center of the island, were a large tower of stone rises up before them. Driven by curiosity, the Hero enters the tower and upon entering is greeted by a friendly possessed doll who explains that the island is surrounded by a barrier that on lets people in, but not out. If the Hero wishes to escape the island, they must reach the top of the tower and... "

This is where I became stumped, seeing two possible routes I can take.

    They are:

    1. Defeat the Champion that resides at the top, whose powers are the energy source for the barrier

    or

    2. Collect 4 Orb Keys which will unlock the defence system of the Barrier's energy source and have the last Key be held by the Champion

I don't know which one to go with, can someone help me out or possibly even suggest alternative routes beyond the two I came up with?

Edit: I was able to come up with a soution on my own, please disregard this post.
  15. Feedback for @Dr Bleed:

The story idea itself is interesting, quite unorthodox and maybe even a bit fresh.

However as interesting as the whole story may be, I think that the relations between the government/military and hero are unrealistic and really a joke. The hero wants to stay loyal to the military, doesn't appear outraged about the passenger  list, doesn't inform it about the existence of the gates... he's basically undecided, and highly unbelievable as a character.  It might be better to make him more one sided, or more decided at least. Pro or against, I don't believe his situation would allow any neutral, or middle ground. As the story might be interesting when everyone tries to kill you, you should make the conflict between the hero and the government the main one. Make him hide his family, start up revolts/revolutions. Make him bring out the population to a revolution by revealing the truth and the either save them by taking therm with him through the gates, or simply leaving them behind to die as a distraction. Make him either a righteous hero or just a putrid, heartless tyrant that would kill all the worlds just so he and his friends can get away.

An excellent idea for the later split would be to give the other "party members" different viewpoints on the choice of genocide or salvation, of war with the government, or submission to it...

Without such conflict the game would be boring if not breezed through in less than an hour.

    Feedback for @Jporter917

World of Darkness: First of the name doesn't move me or satisfy me. It is abstract, without substance, boring, cliche.  Consider changing it. Something that would be more personal to Cain would be best. Also "The cult of Cain" is equally boring. Try something along the lines of "God's hated"," Those unloved by God"/

Second of all, I don't quite get the time, space and setting. Is it the " Dark Ages?" the biblical age? Is the action taking place on Earth? Eden? A far-far away place? Is there magic in this world? Godly powers? Angels? People with godly powers?

Also most importantly, the main character doesn't have a goal. From what I gather he is a simple adventurer who stumbled upon a knight of some kind. Is he some kind of "Guybrush Threepwood" with a " I wanna be a pirate!" resolve and quest? Or is he one of those "I will avenge my family even if I have to sell my soul to the devil" kind of guy?

But above all I don't get what type of game you want to make. Serious? Dramatic?A parody? Or just the plain'old "Epic fun, dangerous adventure?"

You are basically just asking us to come up with a plotline for you by giving us some characters and a local badguy with maybe some re4lation to God or the Bible, without even telling us if the guy is alive, or if it's just the work of some crazy groopies.

However the characters do seem nice, fresh, interesting. The main attraction of the game will surely be the interactions between the party members. However, if they don't have a good motive for tagging along, they will become void and more of a surplus. For example: Master Yu could be the old-master type, who, bored or infuriated with his life/world, sets out to search, even at his old age for a meaning or change. He can play the jocial, senile, fun and gentle old man, but giving him a depressed side, or a inner darkness would certainly spice things up and make the game worthwhile.
  16. I don't have much of a plot lined up since I am still trying to put the basics and mechanics together before I work on that. I do know the themes though.

Basically I'm trying to make a steampunk and magic based world similar to the "Arcanum of steamworks and magick obscura" game. With similar stuff such as being able to make your own weapons and tech, while also being able to find spell books to unlock and upgrade spells. I want to also put in a system that the more magical or technology inclined your characer becomes the stronger that field becomes for you. (I.e if you focus on picking up and upgrading your magic, your spells get stronger but grenades and guns get weaker). I also want to put it in a world with mechanics like legend of zelda type combat and dungeons, hopefully using magic or technology to help you explore the world. 'm also playing with the idea of maye doing what Skyrim did with their dwarven dungeons to mix up the standard dungeons, with some possible mythos to mix in to why this world has that. Basically I want to make an rogue-like rpg game with the same scope of things to do as Skyrim.

This last bit, i'm not sure if I want to put this in now or maybe as an expansion later on, but maybe having riftsand dungeons takeing place in alternate worlds or timelines. These would be the dungeons and maybe come with their own bonus to tech or magic while in them (mage would be weaker in a universe such as ours, but tech would be fine). I'm also playing with the idea of maye doing what Skyrim did with their dwarven dungeons to mix up the standard dungeons, with some possible mythos to mix in to why this world has that.

The themes I want to explore story wise is magic vs technology (obviously) but having undertones of faith vs science. Also in the nature of self determination vs reliance on fate. One of the big questions I want to players to ask is, why is the world working like it currently is working? Why is magic and science at odds? What is true hope?
  17. I'm looking for some feedback on my first project that I'm working on, and would like to see if the story and plot is interesting. I also want to see if people find it more unique than cliche, and if my characters have a strong personality that I could build upon. Please note that all the plotpoints, lore and story is not completed yet.

With that I guess I should begin.

    Project name:
    Violent Whispers

    Story:

At the beggining of all things, there existed nothing else but an endless void that was reaching through the universe. This particular void, would be the reason for the existence of life as we know it, and in It's inner core the sparkles of life emerged with great force.
The void started to evolve, and during millions of years it engulfed itself in chemical reactions and developed
the abilities to drain the energies from these reactions. Energies that developed into sound,
transformed into materia, and created atoms that granted the void a mind off It's own. With the newly gained
abilities the void floated in silence, but as time went by a distant echo reached the mind of the ancient void.
The legendary question that is the foreword of every scroll or text presented in the world of Serena, the very question of life:
'can there be darkness without light?', and so the void created the first world in the history of mankind, and It's first inhabitants ever walking It's surface. The world that came to be called: Serena.

The newly born world, and It's in habitants, struggled to adjust in the early stage of It's existance. But managed to prosper, and a civilization slowly began to evolve on the surface of Serena. As time went by the people of the world, found a way to connect with It's own maker and by worshiping It's grandness they were delivered with the ability to harvest magical resources and use it for every day life. But, the people wouldn't stop here.. It's in the human nature to always seek more power, and find ways to gain new knowledge. With the connection towards the void, and the use of magical resources the people of Serena
invented a way to connect with the void on a deeper level, and in the process they discovered that the use of magic became more efficient, and powerful. After years of explotion, they were finally granted the ability to harvest an alien magical resource that only existed inisde the core of the void itself.

But the exploitation wouldn't come without sacrifices, and the world of Serena began to crumble. At the brink of extinction, the void spared a handful of individuals inside It's own presence and left the world to die. The end of the first crisis came to an end, and the legends of Serena was born.

The Void, along with the few individuals from the ancient civilization of Serena managed to heal the world, and new life began to prosper on It's surface. A new era came to existance, and the world of Aspicio had found It's record of timeline. The era came to be called 'the era of the AC', where the AC stand for After-Crisis. Glimpses of the history of the ancient civilization and the world of Serena could be found in ancient texts that was preserved after the crisis, but the people of Aspicio embraced these texts as legends, and societies began to build up their beliefs on these legends, and worshiped the ancient civilization as gods.
The usage of magical resources was still granted to the people, by worshiping the void and the ancient
civilization. But the forces of magic, could only be invoked by people that had a special genetic aura.
The use of magic, was then categorized by different layers of auras and there are few people on the surface of Aspicio that has the ability to control them all. However, a new rule was implemeted by the void and the ancient civilization, an unbreakable chain that prevented the people of Aspicio to have any connection with the alien magic, the very same magic that led to the Ancients own destruction. And so the usage of the alien magic was banned from the surface of Aspicio.

The world of Aspicio lived together in peace, and the land flourished. Different cultures was established depending on the beliefs of the void and the ancients. Some people refered to stay away from anything about the legends of Serena and found they're own beliefs and purposes in life. The force of magic could never prosper in this individuals, and that's why the never developed a high acceptance of the usage of magical resources. Other people worshiped the legends, and find new ways to let the mind and body develop an acceptance of new layers of the magical auras.

The game itself takes part 1200 years after the end of the first crisis, and the lands are still living in peace even though the fact that the inhabitants have very different opinions, and beliefs. But something is slowly rising on the horizon, and stories about a worshiped king going mad, is spreading like crossfires troughout the lands. What actions are in motion, and why is the king transforming from a highly respected king into a tyrant?
At the same time, a young man wakes up in a rainy forest. Drenched to the bones, he stands up and the only thing he can resemble is a echoing voice that is burning inside his head. With no memories of who he is, or any memories about the world he slowly walks away and begins a journey to seek answers about himself.  At the same time king Zephyr (also called the mad king) of Asper, has found information regarding an artifact that's dating back to Old Serena, that's said to be buried deep below the surface of Aspicio. What is this ancient artifact that the king recently discovered?, and why is he so obssesed in retrieving it?

That follows in the remaining plot: (I feel that this is going to be a long post).

Kind of a spoiler alert from here on: (Don't read if you don't want the game to be a bit spoiled)

    Spoiler
The recent actions of King Zephyr has been devestating, and it seems like he will stop for nothing until the ancient artifact is in his hands. Lots of innocent people have been enslaved, and high councils of the magical society have been killed for not cooperating with the mad king. His search is widely directed on people with a strong sense of the magical auras, as stories are being told about a magical aura that can locate areas of connections with the void even from the surface of Aspicio itself. The land is in chock, and no one can really grasp why the king is taking violence into actions after generations of peace. People are living with a constant fear of an invasion from the north, but are trying to live their lives like usual, even though soldiers are being trained and stationed throughout the world to strike back if necessary. People are coping differently with the recent actions of King Zephyr, and some are fleeing to safer areas and are hiding their beliefs which they proudly presented before the evil motions started to take place. People are even so desperate that they kill they're newly born childs, since they have the genetic magical codes in their system.

At the same time, our main protagonist Vincent (the man waking up in the rainy forest with echoing voices inside his head, and with a sudden amnesia) continues his journey across the lands where he meets up with people, still in question about who he is. As events move along he is grouped up with a handful of people, like the lovely and energetic Wiola, her little sister Clem, A spear-wielding warrior from the amazon tribe Judith, that early develops a high interest for Vincent, A simple but deadly archer from the north named Shane, with an ego that's out of this world, and a warrior from Asper itself called Ryze.

On his journey he is presented with visions from a life that he can't remember, and find himself interacting with the ancient civilizations of Serena (That's evolved into celestial beings, because of It's deep involvement with the void). The ancient civilization bestow him as the only saviour of the evil actions that are in motion, and engulfed with hope he continues to search for the rest of the ancient beings, that is bestowing him with information about himself. Almost as they know him.
They also present him with their apologies about their failures that they bestowed upon this world, and that they are the reason for the king's behaviour and the events that are in motion, will surely present the world with a second crisis and a doom similar to what happened to the people of Serena.

Why are they the reason for the kings sudden change? Why is Vincent presented with the violent whispers inside his head, and why does it feel like he can't control his actions and mind during times? What is his connection with the ancients?, and what failures are they talking about? Why is Vincent presented with visions from another life?, Who's this mysterious Sona that appears wherever the members of the party goes? Is the artifact really in existance and if so, what is it? Can the ancients really be trusted, and what secrets lies waiting in the universe of the void? That's questions that will blossom through the storyline and the plot will build against all of this until the final secrets will be revelead, and twists will probably struck you once, or possibly twice!
All this along with alot of tension, romance, sorrow, sadness and happines between the characters of Vincent's party.
Mysterious secrets are waiting to be discovered.

But at her sisters 10th birthday she was forced to transfer back to the academy to finish her studies.  On her graduation, she had made a big name for herself, and her cunning in Destruction and Healing auras is well known across the land. As a person, she can seem a bit shy at first, and the main reason for that is her rough childhood, which  has made her very defensive. Deep down inside she is a happy young lady, that tries to hide the real pain that is burrowed in her heart. She has an extreme interest in technology and mechanics, and over the years she has become very talented in repairing broken mechs.  She now lives alone with her dying mother, at the outskirts of Duke.

Because of his lifestyle, He was forced to grow up without any technology or any advanced magic, he had to hunt his own food for survival and use his bow for everyday life. Ideas and planned features:

    - A Dynamic world, your choices will have a big impact of your surroundings, and decisions you make can alter events during your gameplay. People will have different opinions about you and your party, depending on your actions. (Example, a town might burn down if a criteria is met. People will not welcome you, and try to chase you away.. etc)

    - 2 secret endings, aquired by special criteria.

    - Lore for towns and locations, and the people living there.

    - Lots of Quests and Side-quests that will have a big impact on the world. This accompanied by a questlog to
always keep track on what to do.

    - A game-breaking choise that will give you different quest-lines, cutscenes, dialouges and possibly skills.

    - Achivements! Will keep you occupied, and another playthrough is required to catch them all.

    - Simple battle system, with skills as you level up, but you can custom some skills depending on choices.
The skill animations will be scripted and customized by myself, some including movie clips.

    - Out-of-Combat skills that is needed to get secret items, and progress in puzzles.

    - Interesting and different characters, alot of tension will storm up between them.. and love, sorrow, hatred, along with different opinions will blossom through the storyline.

    - Interesting twist, that wont struck you once.. but possibly twice!

    - Different Tier items, and the Legendary once will be hard to aquire.

    - Ingame Npcs based on my favourite youtuber (for the luls, and because I really love his work), and also Npcs based on some of my real friends.

Still being worked on but pleas comment is I can make this game the best of the best!!!
  20. Okay, here goes.

In my off-time away from my main project, I'm working on a small survival horror game. The game will mostly be revolving around puzzles and solving mystery. You'll need to talk to people and explore to progress through the game. If you've ever played Broken Sword, you'll know where I'm coming from. There'll be no combat in the game, and the only menu you can access is your items. The plot of the game is a follows:

You're Dean Rosen, a depressed writer who once made his fortune in Romantic Fiction. After a bitter divorce, he was unable to continue writing, and so decided to explore other genres. To get inspiration, he decided to take a retreat to a hotel in a remote town nestled in a forest. As he stays in the hotel, strange things begin to happen, people begin to disappear, and Dean becomes stalked relentlessly by a malicious shadow.

It sounds a little thin, I know, but there's this big ol' plot behind it that I don't want to spoil to any degree. Much of the game is recommended to be played with headphones on, as it relies heavily on the sound. I'm using my experience in music to create a dark atmospheric soundtrack to mess with players heads, messing with the L/R channels, bass, stuff like that. I'm getting particularly fond of manipulating Sine Waves to eerie effect, too!

Here's an example of the kind of music to expect: (wear headhphones!)
