Onnizuka claims it's his job. Moreover, look at the comments, when asked to release the textures for free, he says no, they are created by him for his game. Then in another comment, he says that they are all textures except maybe the roof, which vaguely remembers having edited it, but doesn't say whose.

This author has other works for his game, in another showcase he says that the textures are from "The Inquisitor". I look for them and it's in RPG Palace.

I look at the works of the Inquisitor and I see that there are the textures that Onizzuka claims as his from Shinra-mansion! And they are Opensource! He has simply re-created them.

Onizzuka has lied! But even RPG Palace lies, because it says (and collects) that they are Open Source. But The Inquisitor in another thread says yes, but for commercial use no, that he has to be paid, and mark a price list. LOL.

In short: 6 actors and none of them are telling the truth.

I don't know... It is possible he didn't know for sure is free until later, or he changes the rules for these tiles later to be free, after all, he himself put those tiles in the XP TILES in the 'Download section of his site! and there he writes they are an open-source! and he himself said it's 'open-source'! therefor is no reason to not use them, I only talking about the tiles included in the open-source n the RPG Palace site, not other art the Onizzuka claim. please fix me if I'm wrong, but this is how I see it.

Thanks for posting that some Onizzuka claim art is basically from this site, I have them both but never look into it since I never use it, lately, I was looking for good XP tiles, not sure yet if I use them but better to know before.

Is there anyone who is on that site? Those are my resources and I am not very happy about the repost without credit and terms (and the following edit violating my terms cause they are not listed there...)

I considered registring, but I don't speak a single word Portugese and I thought maybe I can find someone who does and who can ask the mods to take it down for me...

@thepsyche gave me a heads up that the BenBen trees - you know, the ones you still see many many people use even though their stuff is on the blacklist cause of proven rips since years - are definitly edits from rips, too, and therefore REALLY must not be used.

Wecoc’s art resources cannot be considered safe at this time.

To our present knowledge, the icon sheet #2 and XP RTP 3.0 add-on sets are the most impacted, but the most pragmatic suggestion we can make until determined otherwise is to not use any of their art resources.

1. Many tiles in the XP RTP 3.0 add-on set are from Nekura’s paid (!!) tile sets; therefore, in clear violation of Nekura’s terms of use. Credit does not cut it. I want to OK sharing the side-by-side comparison with Nekura (with heavy watermark added) since this was a paid set that was impacted. However, multiple mods have confirmed this report.
2. Two of the map icons in their icon sheet #2 are visual assets from a distribution service event that occurred in Pokemon Emerald.
3. Many of the orbs in their icon sheet #2 are, more likely than not, Pipoya’s. While redistribution of edits are allowed, there is failure to meet Pipoya’s complete terms by not linking back to their original site.
4. A fossil (?) asset of Avery’s was also adapted to this icon sheet #2, forgoing credit, and still in violation of Avery’s terms of use when it comes to distribution of edits.

This is all that is known at this time. While it is highly possible many of Wecoc’s assets are authentic, we cannot safely say.

A HUGE thank you to @Ms Littlefish to present the issue, we had discussed it in PMs before and gathered a bunch of proofs in the background. Also a huge shoutout to @RCXGaming , who to my knowledge was the first to discover the issue and let us know!
He had also spotted that a lot of the icons are just traced from counterclockwise, which makes bascially most of this sheet stolen. Wecoc obviously took the detailled silouettes by CCW and "filled them in" and passed them as his, here is a handful as proof:

Yep. I’ve seen some others as well from the comparison Nekura provided us. Some of the nature decorations and dungeon interiors, at minimum. Thank you for the comparison @oyajigari !! Sadly might be a “gift that keeps on giving” type of situation.

Damn, a shame. Always sucks when something like this arises.

This... has made me even more stressed out because I have been using some of the addon tilesets, and I'm worried that the things I've used (granted it's not much from Wecoc's, but it's still there) are a part of the issue...
Sure my project is non-commercial, but that doesn't change the fact that I could have been going against the wishes of the actual creator...
is version 2.0 of the XP RTP 3.0 add-on set affected as well, or is it just 3.0?
