By the way, do you think it is a good idea to make the menu area as tall as the screen if touch UI is hidden?
I stepped even further. You can disable Touch UI entirely now.

On the other hand, you cannot let the windows grow/shrink depending on the player's setting in the options menu because I don't think it's a good idea to design both A/B cases in the menus.
  2. Hi.

When I select the No Status Window option and then go to Equipment, the game freezes.

Thanks for letting me know, it's fixed and already uploaded! :)

(the game will auto-select the first actor and jump to Equip/Skills/Status... when you decide not to show the Status Window)
  4. Here we are, today, I decided to release this plugin officially!

Unlike my initial plans, I decided to make it entirely free!
I didn't find a good cut between features that should be available for free and those that could be moved into a "pro" version without restricting the free one too much or making the pro version too small to be called a standalone version.
  5. Version 1.1 is out!

    • You can now add Icons to the main menu!
    • You can now directly define the menu commands, including their visibility and availability, using the Plugin Manager. You can jump to scenes, call a Common Event, or invoke custom code.
    • The Game Info Window can now show the playtime
    • In the Shop Scene, the Gold Window was altered as well. This is fixed.

To select the icons, and custom menu commands, you need to go into the Plugin Manager once. It would be too difficult to put that into the app.

it appears im misunderstanding the gauge colors, as i do realize gauge background is for when the gauge is depleted, but im not sure about the other colors.
It appears that the second color represents the color of the text that is displayed before the gauge, but I keep changing the 1st color and (to my knowledge) Absolutely nothing happens :( It's weird because i remember with an older version im pretty sure i had it working just fine...
    thanks in advance!

  9. For some reason the menu layout I created have returned back to the plugin's initial settings and am confused as to why that happened. Any help as to why that happened would be appreciated.

It does that every time you download the newest version. If that's the problem yeah I don't think there's anything you can do

That's not supposed to happen, I will check it.

    EDIT:
@Kaimi I think @CrystalCat is right, I once changed the location of the config file from data/$ui_custom to uicustom/config because RPG maker kept prompting "files have been changed" every single time. It should not happen again.

Maybe your file is still there, then you can simply move it into the UICustom folder.
  12. Hello there!

I have a naïve question, but... would this plugin work if I, for example, use VisuStella's plugins that change some menu layouts?

    Thanks in advance!

That's not a naive question at all, and requires even a longer answer.

So, I'm always checking against VS Core, and it's looking good so far.
With regards to VS Main Menu, it's different. So far, I haven't really checked whether my plugin is compatible with this one, because I wonder why you want to have 2 plugins modifying the menu anyway. If there's any feature in VS that you would like to have as well, then it might be easier to suggest it here, so I can implement it, too, rather than running 2 plugins simultaneously.

    Disclaimer:
I absolutely don't intend to compete or battle against VS or attempt to steal their ideas. In the end, you, as the game devs, want the best result possible, and I think that not having 2 plugins overlapping each other is the more reliable way to go.

Thanks for the detailed reply. It was just mere curiosity, since I use some other plugins that customize the different menus.

But since your plugins is more efficient with the main menu, and makes things easier to edit and navigate, I'll stick with it.

There's one thing, only, that I'm trying to edit, but not sure how to do so. In previous RPG Maker versions, the main menu did show the "Current HP / Max. HP", "Current MP / Max. MP" and "Current TP / Max. TP". Since MZ, I think it doesn't show the HP, MP and TP like that, so I was wondering if there was a way to recover that with your plugin.

Yeah that has been requested many times by now. I plan to bring this feature this or next weekend.
  16. Version 1.2 is out!

    MV support
I cannot believe myself that I spent several days making this plugin support MV as well. The app even auto-detects which maker you are using and can situationally show/hide widgets from its UI when a particular feature is not (yet) ready for a specific engine. Please understand that my main focus is on MZ and MV will get any feature that I can add while keeping my code both stable and reliable.

(There are no 2 separate plugins, but the one plugin supports both MV and MZ.)

    HP/MP/TP as Text
You can now hide the gauges and show primary parameters as text, mimicking a more retro-styling game.

Gauge to show both current & max Values
You can now add the max values for HP/MP/TP if you wish

    Touch UI (MZ only)
You can now show/hide the Touch Button depending on the player's device. Furthermore, you can decide to keep the top space, which is helpful so you don't end up with 2 slightly different layouts.

  17. Heyyyy! Sorry, I know nothing about coding and this is just a stupid question, I'm just wondering if it's possible to remove some of the menu commands? For me, I only needed 'item', 'options', and 'quit', but I was struggling to remove the other commands. Thank you so much! and so sorry to bother you!

    You have 2 options:

    - Open my plugin in the Plugin Manager, and set "Use custom Menu Commands?" to false. After that, disable all commands you don't need in database -> system.

    - Open my plugin in the Plugin Manager, and open "Menu Commands". Remove every entry that you don't need
  19. Thank you so much!!!!!

  20. I love this plugin.
It's exactly what i was looking for, i just wish i could customize more than the main menu, like sub menus and maybe the title menu.
I've mostly just used it to remove all the annoying ugly black boxes around all the selections, which is something I'm just not a fan of.. they make things look too busy and i have no idea why they were added by the main devs. lol
