  1. What is this Plugin?

This plugin comes packed with a UI tool that lets you customize your game's main menu!

    1738491120488.png

    Features

    • More than 6 premade layout configurations
    • ...or arrange all windows as you wish
    • Choose how your Actors should be rendered: Face, SV Battler, Map Sprite, custom Portrait
    • Choose how your Windows should be rendered: Default window, dimmed, custom image, or no background
    • Choose a custom image instead for the background to replace the Map sprite
    • Reposition Texts, set Font Sizes and Text Colors
    • Define the Gold Window's text to whatever you need, including the Map Name and Game Variables
    • Gauge Colors
    • Disable Touch UI entirely
    • Disable RPG elements like level, class, or just everything — useful when making a horror or story game!

    How does it work?

    1. Include this plugin in your game
    2. Start your game and open the main menu
    3. Press F9 (debug key) to open the new toolbox

    Which engine(s) are supported?

This plugin supports MZ and MV. The MV code is still new, so it may contain errors and support fewer features than MZ.

I have a wish or suggestion

The best is when you make a draft of what it should look like in the game and how it should be represented in the tool.

    Rules

    1. This plugin is available for free!
    2. Don't claim it as your own, and don't redistribute it. Just link to this page.
    3. Feel free to customize it to your needs, but rule 2 still applies.

  2. Seems like it could be a good MZ option alternative to GraphicalDesignMode
  3. This is crazyly awesome. It solved various problems I had at once and so far it seems to hinge nicely with other menu-altering plugins i had previously installed. Maybe this is the start of a new era for high quality freeware MZ plugins? Or i'm just so bamboozled i'm imagining stuff.
  4. Just stumbled upon this today as I'm thinking of going back to MZ. This is probably gonna be one of the plug-ins In gonna be nabbing once I reinstall MZ!
  5. New update!

    • Game Devs may now choose a custom Image as background
    • When sticking with the Map Sprite as Background, Game Devs may now choose from these effects:
      • Blurred (default)
      • Black White
      • Sepia
      • None
    • Shadow Box was added above the actors' portraits but below name, HP, MP, to make this information easier to read
    • Exp can be displayed in another gauge, if you wish

THIS IS AMAZING!!!!! is there any way to use different images for different commands? like for example a yellow background for "item" and a blue background for "skill"?

Right now, you can only set a custom image for the whole window but not for individual commands. That will become a bit tricky because every game menu is on its own. I can add individual images for commands such as Item, Skill, Equip... but as soon as a game has new commands like Alchemy, Crafting, Bestiary, my plugin will not understand them.

Your suggestion is really nice, I will try to include it, but it's more complicated so it will take longer.

don't worry or rush! the plugin is amazing as is, and i still can't believe you're selling this quality for free. i know you said it doesn't understand new commands like crafting, but how would you make different windows for the different default commands?

or did you mean the images for the background? (totally awesome if it's just that, but could you let me know how to do that anyways? It doesn't seem like there's options for specific commands, just the command boxes)

The next update will allow you to choose both a custom image as background for the whole window, and another image for each command. And as you can see, each command will have the same image.

Choosing individual backgrounds for the commands would require making a new menu where game devs can select which image to use for which command. I'm unsure whether I will include such a feature here, because there might be other options like moving it into a separate plugin.

Because there are already 2 of you guys; I haven't fully decided yet whether and to what extent this plugin will be monetized.

I promise there will be a free lite version, which will allow you to do whatever you want (modify it, customize it, use it in a commercial game) as long as you don't redistribute it because advertising something here and then to paywall would be a huge dickmove. However, some features that are available right now in the WIP project might eventually be moved to a pro version.
  10. Hello. I can't set up a custom image for the character in any way. There are no errors, just a blank screen.

Did you use <Menu Portrait: Actor1_1> Notetag?

    Actor1_1 is just an example.

    EDIT:
Ah sorry, I just figured out that the Info text was corrupted during the last update. It should be "Menu Portrait", not "Command Portrait". Thank you for letting me know :)

No, the description said: <Command Portrait: filename>

Okay! That's perfectly fine! I already found a bit of a way to do that by putting the button pictures on the command background, and it looks good enough, so no need to rework everything
  14. New update!
    • Custom Cursor: Game Devs can choose to display a custom image instead of the blue background box to mimic a retro-style RPG
    • Game Devs can override the color for disabled commands
    • Map Name is shown (if you wish)
    • The number of visible Actors can be synced with the current party size. The actors' boxes will grow/shrink accordingly.
    • Game Devs may manually override all windows' positions and dimensions

AWESOME! Can you animate it? spritesheet or otherwise?

Right now, only let it blink.
  17. New update is out!

    • I combined the gold, map name, custom1, and custom2 window into one "game info window". I think it looks much better, and also lets you individualize it the way you want!
    • Quick Templates. I added a few starters, but that's it. You cannot add your own, so don't expect too much
    • Gauge Colors!

With that, I implemented all my personal features for this scene and will now look for any bugs or errors - but that doesn't mean you could not add your wishes here. After that, I plan to continue with the Item Scene.

Amazing. Perfect. Exactly what this plugin needs. Thank you Aerosys!
  19. Oups, totally forgot the Status Effects :kaoback:

    1737298125431.png

    Also:
    - Font Sizes are now capped at 10 (before it was 3)
  20. :LZSgrin:Looks great so far.
By the way, do you think it is a good idea to make the menu area as tall as the screen if touch UI is hidden?
