I am not sure what is causing this, and I am probably barking up the wrong tree asking here because I know it's not the engine itself... but I have issues wherein if I'm moving around on the screen or I trigger cutscenes of any kind the movement is choppy. I have tried all the usual fixes that I can think of barring uninstalling and reinstalling Ace ... well .. and Win ..
I have tested other games made by other people ..same issue ..but ONLY on my pc .. on my boyfriends they work find including the small little map I made to test the issue ... it's starting to drive me batty .. My pc is a bit overkill for rpg maker .. heck my pc is a bit overkill for skyrim @.@ so it's not that .. I am basically just hoping someone .. anyone can offer me suggestions I can attempt to make this problem go away .. while it's not end all be all .. it would be nice if I could enjoy my playtests without my character acting like he's having a slight seizure every 8 steps or so ...
Tyvm in advance for any advice .. and I'm SO sorry if this is the complete wrong place to ask this.

Google moghunter scripts.
Find his blog.
Download master demo.
Open it.
Go to scripts.
Find the two anti lag scripts.
Anti lags work with just copy paste.
do copy paste on your project.
Tell me if that optimized the thing a little bit. -
Well that seemed to help a fair bit actually, though my character still jerks every now and then when moving the actual movement of the screen is worlds smoother now ... also . lol .. I just ..JUST downloaded your tutorial game like 20 min before you posted that reply :p

Empty map? Can you make screenshot of the map/video?
-
Actually decided to try something completely off the wall .. disabled steams "in game overlay" ...lag gone .. all of it .. with script and without .. *grumbles and boots his client* so I dunno if that's just mine or what but ya .. *sigh* thanks for your help regardless !
Scratch that ..it's back again .. as for as screenshot ya I can throw one up .. if I can figure out how to do that <.<

Also if you have events set to parallel process (on the map or in common events) and they don't have a Wait statement, that can cause lag and potentially choppy movement too.
-
That shouldn't give you any kind of problem. Can you check in task manager the CPU usage (and why not, memory?) while playing the game?
-
No events running in parallel I'm afraid Shaz and yes I've been watching the task manager CPU for RPG maker ...well game.exe is between 0 and 2 next highest is idle and mem sits at around 30k

I have the same issue.
Thing is it gets better using moghunter's scripts.
Not 100% but better.
That's why I did the recommendation. -
Ah so this might be something i just can't get rid of with my current setup then
Just wanted to let everyone who has helped me know ..decided to say screw it ..formatted windows ... and now it's gone completely I have no idea what was causing it but thank you all for your help ...how do I get this topic closed now? <.< lol -
You just click Mark Solved on the one that solved the issue (in this case, it'll be the post you just made). Then it'll be closed automatically (if we have that feature implemented yet) or will just travel back through the pages until it's forgotten.
Alternately, you could report the first post and ask the mods to close it. We don't really do much of that these days, when the Mark Solved button is available. -
Breaking news...
Does your system run on an AMD processor?
