  1. I finished my own submission.
And now I am filled with great sadness that it's over.
And I also feel a bit dead and soulless after going on a last-hour-bug hunt.
Feels awful. But it feels nice to be "done."
Will be sure to revisit it again in the future.
  2. I know what you mean LuckyCassette. Although I don't really feel sad, I feel... weird. I mean, for a month, this game has been my #1 thing. Everything else I've done has been to support me making it. 28 days of that has made me get used to that rhythm: get up, watch some speedruns (SGDQ has been a nice background noise and inspiration for me), then get creative and work on my "baby". Now that it's out there, in people's hands, and all I can do is just... wait. Wait for feedback, for potential bugs, for anything.

I think it'll take me a little while to return to "normality" after this. It's been an awesome ride, but man has it been exhausting on so many levels, too. But I'm so glad I did it, and I'm glad to have shared the process with so many of you here :D
  3. Kind of glad it's over, myself.  I mean, yeah, it was fun, and I'd do it again in a HEARTBEAT.  But my health is just not what it should be, and the Powers that Be KNOW I need the rest without stressing! ;)

Still, looking forward to the next go round, where I'm told I'll have an ACTUAL TEAM!
  4. That sums it up better than I can muster in my half asleep state, Galenmereth.
I'd totally do something like this again.
    Just...
    Not any time soon :^)
  5. Uploading right now. Lord, I feeling like barfing.
  6. Uploaded my game at 6:58pm this evening.  I worked on it until the last minute.  It has a beginning, a middle and an end -- but I sure wish I had more time to add, fix and refine all aspects of the game from the beginning, through the middle, and at the end!  Though only a newbie with RPG Maker VX Ace (a bit over 3 months experience with the app so far) I was determined to create and submit a game in answer to the 2014 IGMC challenge.  I feel I learned a lot, both in the process of making the game and, more importantly, from the incredibly talented members of this forum and the resources provided here.  So, regardless of how my game fares, despite the flaws it may possess, and how it may be received I want to send out a big thank you to the great RPG Maker community for their help, inspiration and feedback.

So this is for all you great folks who are developing great games or creating the wonderful resources that make games great!

  7. Well guys it is with a heavy heart that I say, that I missed the deadline by a minute or 2 due to technical difficulties. Good Luck to everyone else though =]

I'll put the game's link in its original topic

That's why I posted mine when I did.  I may could have caught that glitch if I'd waited longer (it's nothing major, but still, probably means I will NOT win the $10,000), but I'd rather have a shot at winning SOMETHING.

I am so sorry, though, dude.  That really sucks.  And I mean that.  That really, really friggin' sucks.
  9. Hey I hope you're in good health and yeah it does, but a learning experience. At the very least people can still play the game itself. So it's not a total loss.

And I won't lie, it was pretty dramatic seeing what was gonna reach 0 first, the countdown or the upload.

Thanks mate, working on it.  Just woke up from about an hour nap, actually (well deserved, I might add!).  And yus-the learning experience is invaluable.  A month ago, I'd not have DREAMED of having a cutscene with multiple different characters across FOUR DIFFERENT MAPS.  Now?  That's -YOINKED!- CHILDSPLAY.

And I know what you mean-my uploader just kept adding time to it last night, and then my computer crashed half-way through it...  Ended up sending all files over to the "SuperComputer," and doing it that way.

Basically, the techno equivalent to Nuking it From Orbit-It's the Only Way to Be Sure.
  11. Guys, it's been under an hour and I don't know what to do with my freedom. I've already cooked a giant steak, ate it, and settled down with a pot of tea. I'm just pacing now.
  12. It's hard to come down off the rush, right? I am just so tired, not doing anything feels great right now.

Also, before this thing gets closed - I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for participating in this thread. It's been fun getting to know many of you through here. What a great ride!
  13. Yeah, I'm still not off the rush myself... It's been one great ride indeed! It's been awesome working on the game and just seeing everyone else hard at work on theirs. Really fun and exhausting month.

The answer?  Buy resource packs/make new art, start new project-DUH! ;)
  15. I actually am tempted to start working on my platformer again... Maybe draw some pixel art. I mean, I need more enemies than a snail and a gnome that you can jump on to steal his hat and make him so mad he goes bald and red faced, right?

  17. I feel like I've "worked myself blind" on the project at this point and really need distance from it. But I will definitely make it bigger, better, faster, stronger. Soon

Damn you Dekita.. I went though all those spoilers should have realized it was trolling after the third one. :headshake:   lol
  19. There was a fatal game-breaking bug found by early downloaders... I was able to upload a new version with that one last bug fixed in the nick of time...

    *flop*
