Well, you guys can try my stable setup for Pixi 5, it works well with NW 0.72.
Currently using Pixi 5.3.12 now. And btw not all NW versions are stable, some of them have various annoying bugs (like 0.68.1).

    Thank you very much!
  2. @supers0nic91 probably not, the best one if useing MV, = 4.9.2
    with pixi version 4.8.9.

for MZ I dont know, but it depends how greenworks works,
if it works with MZ, you might be able to use the same version
as MZ does, but nwjs 4.9.2 is best stable for steam achievements.

unless someone can confirm a higher stable version that works.

Since my last post, I've got 0.63.1 working, seemingly with no faults on MV. Pixi is currently at 4.8.9. And I've got Greenworks working with it too. Last time I tried to upgrade Pixi (not as high as 5.0) I think there were some funky results. Not tried 5.0+ as it was pain enough just to get these 3 things all in sync!
  4. I think greenworks also got something to do with nwjs though, as nwjs higher
than 6 can be clunky too, but if you got it work, why trying upgrade it furher?

Yes if you want achievements you need greenworks and versions have to sync, which I have achieved.

As for why trying to upgrade further, one of my games is very performance heavy. If Pixi could be upgraded further than there would be even more gains.
  6. I see, good luck with your project, I hope you get teh answer to see if its
working nicely with a higher pixi (which I believe, could be the same as
MZ version that use it, but that needs to be tested though.
  7. It seems like 0.73 doesn't work with MV anymore, I get the following error message when trying to playtest: "Required value 'name' is missing or invalid".
0.72 was working fine for me.

That said, 0.72 seems to have different results on different PCs. On some devices, upgrading to 0.72 greatly reduces lag, while on other devices, it makes the existing lag worse. Did anyone else have similar experiences?
  8. Are you certain you haven't done anything else to cause this?

Play test again, and when you get the error, hit F8 and look at the Console tab. Show us a screenshot of that.
  9. Hello, I know this is an old post but I'm wondering if anyone could help me. When I open the local files, there doesnt seem to be
    nwjs-win nwjs-lnx or nwjs-osx-unsigned

Here is what I can see.
    Any help is much appreciated.

  10. Hi Shaz, thanks for your suggestion. However, I decided to just downgrade to the old NW.js version again, so I won't be able to replicate the error.

Did you try this from the guide:
"You have to keep in mind that to see certain folders on the Mac you have to right click files and select “Show Package Contents” in order to see the contents of a folder. You have to do this with the “RPG Maker MV” folder (Literally right click on "RPG Maker MV" in the folder and click "show package contents".)"
  11. Thanks for the response. I'm one step closer! But there is still an issue. As seen below these are the files I have, after clicking on all of them I can't find the ones I need. I am not very good with this stuff haha. Thanks for the help.Screenshot 2023-03-03 at 21.10.26.png

Hi there, you may have already figured this out, but this is a macos specific issue (well Im like 50% sure it is, either that or its issue from nwjs73 that wasnt present in 70). Either way I helped a friend upgrade to 73 on macos earlier today and the fix is extremely simple.

Find the `package.json` file on the root of your project folder. There should be a name field at the top, go ahead and put the name of your project there (though it doesnt really matter what you fill it with). Then you should be able to launch normally.

Hope that helps for anyone else who runs into this.
  14. And why we need to do that improvement and its not in any update or anything? Anyway dont need it thanks, hope they release useful freatures in maybe Unite...
  15. There are a lot of steps and dont want to mess any important file better will leave there XD

The developers of RPGmaker have stopped providing updates for MV while the technology that it's built on continues to be updated. As a result you'll need to update those files yourself. It is essentially only one file though and it's impossible to mess up any important files since you can always easily revert the rpgmaker program files and this doesn't touch anything important to your computer. Keep in mind that Unite is not compatible with current rpgmaker projects so if you want a project to be more performant without starting over entirely, this manual update process is neccessary.
  17. Mmm okey even in Steam it doesnt update? Will try do it manually, sometimes when i test the performance is low like -30fps maybe is that! Thanks and will just make a security copy just in chase xd

About Unite i only seen you can transform like 3D to 2D and scale pixel sprites, but yes i dont think too that proyects are compatibles, probably not
  18. Yes they have stated directly that there will be no compatibility between projects for Unite. They said so in the first devlog here: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1650950/view/3092290332420726164 (faq 2 at the bottom).
Q2. Can I Use Past Assets and Projects?
    Unfortunately no.

And yes, it's always a good idea to make a backup before editing the engine files. It's a shame that the developers have not bothered updating the engine themselves but it's likely an upper management decision to not devote resources to their older products. It happens.
Luckily these engines have a great community! Don't be afraid to post again if you run into issues when trying to do the manual upgrade
  19. I don't have the version info in my F8. Anyone with the same issue?
