  1. @Gabrelik Your trees are looking great, I see you aren't as lazy as me and are doing it all yourself.  I'm afraid I pinched my leaves etc from the RTP - looks like it's got a bit of a leaf afro!  Still, I'm quite chuffed with the trunk for a first effort (amazing what you can do with a smudge tool).  I didn't know Celianna has a tutorial - I'll have to find it and have a look.  She certainly knows what she's doing.  Are you using your mouse or do you have a stylus?  I have an old (read: ancient) stylus and pad but it's a bit clunky so I'm persisting with the mouse at the moment.
  2. Hello, I LOVE this! I was wondering how you got the vines on the rock? Do you have tilesets for that that I could use to replace the basic default one MV comes with? I am new to this but dont know what RTP is but I just would really like to use your designs

I've been having a bit of a play around. I don't know if these are of any use to you but they are all RTP edits. I got a bit carried away with the inn, but I was having fun so I went a bit over the top! And I thought any respectable bunny village should have a decent carrot patch.

    Calamity.

Hi there. RTP is just the default assets (can't remember what the letters stand for any more!). You can do some layering of vines from what you have in your standard tilesets but the fancier stuff is done in photoshop. If you don't have that, a good free editing software that many people use is Gimp. You will need something to be able to organise and use anything you download from here.

These edits were made specifically for Kip's game but I don't know if they were ever used as such.
Nevertheless, I don't see why you couldn't use some of them since this is a public forum and they were done for free with no original content - maybe just not in a bunny village!

If you let me know what kind of thing you are after I can knock together some vines on rocks and walls etc or just do some vine and plant edits that you can layer over things for you so you can see what can be done. I just need to confirm which platform you are using so I use the ones that you can use. Do you just have MV?

thank you for responding! I use MV, I am trying to make a game based on my D&D characters backstory. She is an air-genasi druid, and I wanted her forest to look very mystical. It's called Arrowwood Wisteria, and the homes are like hobbit houses (so I borrowed the ones I found in this forum) and I imagine a lot of cottagecore vibes, vines all over the rocks, wisteria trees about, bridges (of vines or wood) that connect cliffs or trees together. I am just really having a hard time capturing how I imagine the setting bc it's hard finding tilesets to go with it (still havent found the trees yet) Anyhow, I hope that helps explain what I'm looking for, I thought your vines were a nice touch and you added a lot of more naturalistic art that the default doesn't have

No problem, give me a day or two and I'll see what I can do.
  6. Here you are. I hope this is the sort of thing you are thinking of and can use. At the least it should show you the sorts of things you can do with the simplest of editing - recolour, repositioning, clustering etc. You can just add this in as your D or E tile and it will work or, of course, you can edit them into your own tileset.

If you are looking for a really good set to use, may I recommend First Seed Material: Woods and Caves? I think you will find that that beautiful set might be just the sort of thing you are after. It is excellent value for money (especially if you can get it on sale) as it is huge and has many beautiful plants (including drapey vines) as well as bridges, mushroom and tree houses, ruins and lots of accompanying clutter. It also comes with a sample game chock full of maps to inspire or use.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

EDIT: Don't know what I am doing wrong here, keeps showing up as a jpeg if you try to save it. So bare with me if you see this before I've figured it out.

Oh, my bad, left click to open and then it saves as a PNG - sorry, haven't done this for a while!

I appreciate you so much! Really, you didn't have to go this above and beyond and you did! This definitely helps me see a bit more clearly how I can take some defaults and edit them to be my own, I think the problem I have to overcome is figuring out how to import it correctly that it will select the parts right when I edit in the map. Also turns out that tileset you recommended has already been in my steam wishlist, good to know it will be worth my money! Will definitely consider snagging it for sure when I can. I will definitely be using these in my project and give you creds <3

You're welcome. It is aligned to the grid so you can import it as is and it should be useable.
  9. RTP stands for Run-Time Package - in the old versions of RPG Maker, it was a separate download, so end users would have to install the RTP from Degica's site, then any games they got that people made would be able to run.

These days it's just packaged with the exported game, but the term has stuck to refer to the default assets.

Also, this thread is just the freaking cutest thing ever. Awesome job, everyone.
  10. H alli, first time post so go easy on me please. I am fairly new to RPG maker and set myself a mini project to learn the editor better a few months ago. I loved this thread and had a stab at creating some shire themed assets. If anyone can make use of these happy to tidy up and share.

Forgot to say the tree stubs are for Panda Maru's tree's set

Your little houses are really cute. Love the round chimneys. Did you do those all yourself?
  12. Thank you, yes the Chimneys are made from scratch. The chimney isn't quite lined up to centre when used with the houses so had to adjust the smoke effect to make it aligned. Not up to the standard of yours and others amazing work but I am really enjoying it.....never thought I would find it quite so therapeutic!.
  13. Here are the sets. All inspired by the creators on this thread:

    - Hobbit holes with parts. All made from scratch with the exception of the windows which are the ones earlier on this thread but added a stone frame to them.
    - A2 auto-tiles. The orange path is a recolour of the default MZ. Should blend in with the hills on the hobbit-holes. I have added new textures for grass and the other path.
    - Tree's are re-colours of MZ default
    - Animated hobbit doors. Not all colours included as I only did 3. Again made from scratch. Not perfect!
    - A cliff but not sure how well this will work if tiled to bigger areas. Not great but does look good.
    - Other slightly larger trees in the original pic are Panda Maru tree trunks and stubs with MZ leaves. I have not included here.

I will start my own thread of resources eventually but until I do...
Must own legal copy of MZ.
Free for commercial and non-commercial although please credit me: Rkyfat (except the window - credits for that at the start of thread) and a copy of any game using them would be appreciated.
However, please do not repost without permission
I will take requests to give me more practice but will consider case by case.

  14. Ignore the autotile attachment above as it cut off some. Updated below with animated doors added
  15. in keeping with the theme. The Wizard is an edit of tall sprites by WaywardMartian so I take no real credit for these other than a bit of time and colouring in. Thank you Avery for helping me locate the originator!

    Waywards terms are:
Free to use either non-commercial games or commercial games with credit to Wayward Martian Graphics. I'd like to see what you end up doing with them, but that part's a suggestion rather than a command.
Editing is allowed, I just want credit for the parts I did.

Thank you for this! I tried to edit that sprite into a red wizard and miserably failed. Then here you come with this! :LZSexcite:

Here's my recolor attempt if anyone needs a red wizard like I do for a Zelda-like dream scene. It still needs work but I'm only using the top middle image so stopped. No credit to me. Wayward's work and Rkyfat's edit
