Hey, @hiddenone - I've really, really been enjoying your work - especially the Beast Anthro character generator parts you made - I do have a question, however: I want to use bird-anthro people for my game, and I noticed you have a bird beak under the Facial Mark section for all the regular and SV sprites, but not for the faces. Am I missing the beak for the faces? Did you add the beak for the faces, or is that a work in progress?

That's a nice library of resources that you've offered up. I like the tall characters a lot and I think the teen sized version are a slightly better height when compared to the tile sets. Of course having adult, teen, and child sizes are a nice bonus so you've covered a lot of bases. Funnily enough the random tall characters that someone posted on youtube that I mentioned in that previous thread were modeled after your template but I didn't realize this until digging around quite a bit. I found some others that he made as well, also modeled from your template. I decided to give it a try and add clothing to one of the teens and it came out terrible but I can see how someone might get seriously involved with art assets alone.

@Pearl484 Actually it seems like the extended generator will work quite well, though I'll need to spend more time learning how to use it to get things properly set up (also need to make enough parts so that a generator is actually worth using...).
@TheChroniclerJustin The beak part doesn't have any faceset parts, only the sprite pieces. I just never got around to making the face part. :rswtExample rando dude -
Holy cow. You figured out how to do that? That's really cool. I thought it'd be too big.
-
I see. Alright, well - I suppose I could do some searching around to find a beak for the faces. Thanks for taking time to answer my question.
-
@Pearl484 I just followed the info in the tutorials, it does take some time to get it set up correctly but so far it seems quite likely that we'll see generator files for Hine sprites in the future. :)
@TheChroniclerJustin I can add the beak to my to-do list, but it's kinda already never-ending. :rswt You may have more luck making a resource request for it instead.
It's that time again.. Time for a new battler! Today we've got the Suffering Soul! This spooky skull is perfect for any haunted castles, demonic dungeons, or even as a not-so-nice will-o-wisp in a swamp!
Happy game making! :rwink:

hiddenone i love you so much :) the fact that you take the time to give us an animated sv battler each week AND all the recolors for it. it is truly a great contribution to the community. love this one!
-
I'm certainly not going to pressure you into making it, if you already have a massive request queue. I'm sure someone somewhere in this community has beaks for bird people.
By the way, I'm totally loving the SV battlers - and I do think I will use many of them for my project. Definitely a big help. You rock, @hiddenone . -
The black and fire colored spirit is my favorite. The light version is also a really good recolor.

Alright, this is what I've got for a centaur battler. It's not perfect, but it looks good and works for what I need. This makes weapons appear a little off, but I don't know how to fix that via the battler image. I plan to fix the weapons individually for my needs.

EDIT: Here are the walk and face images.

Traditionally, centaurs use bows, so here's my updated weapons file that fixed the bow for him:

can u see the fail? the hair isn't good on him
thanks for help -
I made mine in photoshop. Templates like this don't work in the generator since they're a different size.

oh! ok thank you manI made mine in photoshop. Templates like this don't work in the generator since they're a different size.

Hey I've been editing your new character sprites to add dynamic actions. I've been working on a mining sprite and I'd like to know what you think! I'm fairly new to spriting so if you have any tips on how to make it better I'd really appreciate it.

@Reat The best place to get feedback and help at improvement would be in the WIP thread. I suggest you post there.
-
@Reat Kes is right, you're more likely to get good feedback in that thread. I can tell you that you should add a bit more muscle to the arms, since right now they're pretty thin. :)
Here's some NPCs for my Hine Sprites: male villagers! Not too many outfits yet, but these should help get y'all started. :)
Happy game making! :rwink:

We've got the next entry of the Wildlife Series today: the Owl! This wise bird knows just how to beat adventurers, so watch out or the Owl will take you out in one swoop!

I had a bit of trouble finding a good mythological owl to make (there are a lot of bird ones, but not many owls), so I went with something simple: the 3-Eyed Owl! That extra eye means this beast can see all your heroes' moves, even before they do them!

Ooh, owls! Everybody's fond of owls! I know it's been repeated alot, but your work is amazing!
-
that owl reminds me of the three-eyed crow of game of thrones
-
The brown owl reminds me of Otus from Owlboy. Almost makes me wish I was using a sideview battle system. Maybe in another game.

Nice hiddenone ^^
