These are truly lovely. I am not using front facing battlers, but I look at these, particularly the one on the left, and I vaguely remember that somewhere Avery has a great tutorial on how to turns sprites into proper looking statues, not just desaturate them. If only I could track it down I would have an excellent statue for my game. Thank you for opening up yet another possibility. And those stained glass windows are excellent.

@Avery That indeed is the one. Thank you.
-
I am super-into constructs of all kinds, and this is a new one on me. Very cool! ^_^
-
Wow, those stained glass windows are amazing!
-
This a MediEvil tribute by any chance?
Don't worry, I'm not saying it's unoriginal. It's actually cool to see another take on the idea. -
Once defeated, the Stained Glass Knight has dropped some loot...
Advent Calendar Day 11: Stained Glass Weapons+Icons
In need of holy weapons or special artifacts for the heroes to retrieve, or just cool weapons for your clerics or paladins? Enter the Stained Glass Weapons, inspired by the card game Magic the Gathering's Return to Dominaria set. The Weapons are simply edits of the RTP's, but the icons are made from scratch. I also included an icon for shattered Stained Glass, in case anyone wants to run a crafting system to make the weapons. So instead of battling Stained Glass Knights to acquire the weapons, one would collect the stain glass shards to build them.
@MangaB - I actually had no idea what MediEvil was and had to look that up. I had a small laugh. My brother played that game ages back but I had no idea there was a Stained Glass monster boss in it. I was actually inspired by Dungeons and Dragons. Back in the Second Edition Monster Manual Book there was a Stain Glass Golem.
@Kes - Oh! I completely forgot until you mentioned it! I was going to upload the statue version of the Stained Glass Knight too, since it started off as a statue to begin with! But it seems I forgot to finish it. :ptea: If you gimme a day or two I can get that that posted ;)
@Avery - Oh thank you! The stain glass window took me two days to do and a lot of hours.
@SeaPhoenix and @GalacticGod - Thank you both for the lovely compliments. It is nice to know that the Stained Glass Knight is liked. It took me quite a bit of time to whip up. -
What can I say other than a heartfelt thank you.If you gimme a day or two I can get that that posted
That would be wonderful. -
How has time flown by this month? It is simply incredible! We are half way through to Christmas, which brings me to today's drop:
Advent Calendar Day 12: Redwood Tiles Revisited
Some may remember years ago when I created some large redwood Sequoia trees. Well, after digging through my unfinished works I realized that I had created doors and windows for them and completely forgot to post those! So, I took some time to make a few additional pieces, some extra windows, some roots, tried to fix the perspective on the tops of the thinner redwoods, and whipped up an interior. Hopefully with these additions, the Redwood tiles can be of greater use to the community at large.
-
Yes, yes, yes, especially as you've provided the interior tiles as well. I spent forever making the interior of a tree for my last project and the thought of having to do that again with 48x48 tiles was a bit disheartening. Now I don't need to.
Thank you. -
@Kes - You could even use my outside Redwood trees and combine them with Avery's Tree Dungeon she just released for some fun results. ;)
-
So pretty! I love the heaven's golden gate! So pretty! Also the cloud autotiles, gorgeous!
-
Amusingly, just the other week my D&D players fought a stained glass golem.
The trees are beautiful. -
How did that go, @ATT_Turan? I have always wanted to encounter a Stained Glass Golem but it has not happened. I would love to draw up an encounter with one for a future group.
-
You have some amazing talent. The stained glass combo of knight and weapons are definitely my favorites so far.
-
It was the guardian for a weapon shop. The party figured out he'd been turned into a vampire by a cursed axe they sold him, and the golem kept them occupied long enough for him to escape and plan further nefarious deeds. How did that go

One should be very careful when traversing high locations, such as Heaven Cloud Biomes or very very large trees. If one does not watch their step, one such as Harold perhaps, then they may find themselves falling a very very long way down... Oh, dear. Silly Harold should have watched his footing. Now how is Harold suppose to battle with a broken leg now? Wait, what's this?
Advent Calendar Day 13: SV Wheelchair Base
That's right. Now whether or not the characters have a broken leg, they can still show off their talent and kick the butts of the enemies. If you find yourself in need now of the on map sprite base, Avery has that covered in Avy's MV Resources.
A small bit of backstory. I was commissioned last year...maybe, or was it two(? ((time flies too quickly and blurs together for me))) to create a side view battler for a custom character using the default wheelchair in the RTP. I confirmed a long time ago with the client that it would be okay to share this, so long as I removed the custom special attacks. There was still some work to do before I could offer it to the community, so I ended up sitting on this for quite a long while after. First step to get this ready was to restore the character base model for this. Then I removed the special attacks that were asked for in that request, and finished out the sheet animations. Side note, the 'death' pose makes use of the busted wheelchair found in the RTP Sci Fi tiles ;)
-
I'm glad you went back to this. It's a useful addition for when one doesn't want yet another super-toned character.
-
Wow, this is super cool. Now I can at long last make that Professor X SV Battler, :)
-
On the long adventure that has taken Harold and Company through Mimic Forest, trap filled dungeons and forests, through mushroom village and up into the clouds, and down again via branches of massive large trees, the heroes have discovered that they are a very long way from home. After locating the nearest coastal port town they have booked a passage back home, only for their vessel to be waylaid by an angry...
Advent Calendar Day 14: Whale Sprite+ Animated Flesh Dungeon Mouth!
@Avery herself kindly suggested I animate the Flesh Dungeon mouth's I had created years back so that they can open and close ;) It had been on my list of things to do for a long while and took the Advent Calendar this year as motivation to get it done. In addition, I had always wanted to make a whale sprite to go along with it, and so I have! The whale is of a Humpback Whale, and before I have any whale experts complaining that Moby Dick wasn't a humpback or that those types of whales don't eat people, I know. By the time I had realized my mistake I had already created the sprite. Perhaps later down the road I could create additional whale sprite types, if there is enough demand for it.
But that's not it for today's drop! There are strange odds and ends that can be found within the monstrous whale's belly, including a heroic statue from a bygone age! The heroes may find it a subtle sign that they are on the right path that the statue matches the Stained Glass Knights they have fought before ;) The statue comes with and without a base.
