  1. I'm planning on using a stellar calendar for my country, has anyone thought about a Zodiac yet?
  2. Coolio!

This is a fantastic idea! I've got a long weekend... so I may try a play through as many of the existing Arum games as possible and then start on my own!
  3. @Levi W: There are honestly not that many with playable demos avaliable, a weekend should be more than enough XD

@Cryanos: No set stuff has come this way so far on that area, so feel free.

Fantabulous!! All the more time to work on the game itself!! I can think of a few locations to focus on... let the brainstorming begin! Let it! LET IT!
  5. This is an interesting project....is there still progress being made on this?
  6. Yes, but since it's just a group of GAMES; how each game advances is totally up to their developer. I'm quitly workign away at mine, and I suppose other peeps are too, but actually FINISHING games is hard, hard business XD

Understood, i'm excited to see where this project goes.
  8. Nice idea. I'm not very skilled with the RPGMaker yet, but I could actually use this as a point to start with. It has some rules, lots of freedom and I can just orientate myself on the edges. Would save me some time in actually working out some more specific things.
  9. I pushed up another project to work on, but my Arum game is pretty far along and I'll have something to show in the reasonably near future.
  10. Alright, I just got a nice idea. I think I will make it more of something which focus not so much on fighting but more on interaction with other NPCs and slowly tell a tale about the city it takes place in.
  11. I think I'll try and build my game within this universe.

Would be pretty great to see this go above and beyond our expectations.
  12. So, here we are. It’s march and it’s time to crack the whip and see who flinches!

Kiddin, kiddin. I’m going to be sending a PM to everyone to see who’s still active on their projects. If you have abandoned your Arum projects, please tell me and I’ll take your stuff down.

More things! It was about time we updated, a long time ago really, but I’ve been…well, just very busy :< We have 6 completed games! Four of them by the same group, but EH, it’s still games! (Check out the games section in the OP!)

So, what else can I say? FINSIH YOUR GAMES, PEEPS! We want to fill out the world a bit! Even having demos out will help, by encouraging other peeps with your content to take the plunge.

What else…The project is not dead. Please do not worry, you can submit your countries and games just fine. I’ll be updating the tutorial game project soon, but I have a few people to contact to add their stuff in before that. Expect it ina week or so.

What else…I’ve been thinking: what do you guys think about a contest? It would not be nothing soon, since it would require preparation, but it would go like this:

-You get a map pack (a city, a field and a dungeon)

-You get the details of the city setting

    -You get a plot objective

The contest will be to make a game using those, and anything else you want, of course. This is merely a way to: A-encourage people to get into Arum games, and B-fill out the first map pack submission, since there have been none so far.

If the idea is good and people want to hold the contest, I’ll try to see how it’ll work and we’ll run a poll or two to decide on the settings and other stuff such as prizes. Please tell me what you guys think!

    So, SUMMARY TIME!

-Final world map has been updated with the countries that have finished games.

-Main topic and Country reference map have been updated with game data.

-Active/inactive projects will be checked out by PM. Please answer the pm that will come along this week to see if you’re still active or not.

-Preparing for Tutorial Library game update.

-Contest proposal. Please read above and tell me what you guys think!

PS: I only updated the completed projects I was aware of. If I’ve missed the project page for an unfinished Arum game, please tell me and I’ll add you in.
  13. Nice idea... Back to game making...
  14. Sorry progress has been slow. I've had other projects on my plate but I am still proud of my game-to-be. I'll share when I have something to show.
  15. I'd definitely be up for a contest.

EDIT: On map packs, how many maps would you accept from one person at a time? Can they have events on them other than transfer events? Should the database be completely wiped besides the tilesets and one actor (so that you can test the maps)?
  16. Maps mean maps alone. You could have events that help the map like skipping stones and jump events to traverse the map, but that's it. The prupose is to have SETTING tools, not premade dungeons and puzzles.

There's no limit number-wise. I will just make sure the map quality is of a bare minium. If you want to make maps for half the world, that's fine. If it's onyl one city, that's fine too.
  17. What needs to happen: The ultimate Arum game...where someone takes over the world...and you can visit each completed game country...and meet all the different characters...and play for hundreds of hours...

That would take a long time, but it would be pretty epic.
  18. Probably impossible. Scope too big. THe game would be a slog to wade though :/
  19. I'd love to someday contribute to the arum universe (I think its a really great idea), of course I still got a lot to learn about the maker before that happens. Someday though...
  20. My current RPG Maker project is getting close to the point where I might be able to release a (very small) demo soon, and happens to have been created with Arum in mind. I'm kinda embarassed by the amount of placeholder art I'm using, though...

At any rate, if my project keeps going this well I might have something to contribute to Arum soon. I've liked the Arum games I've played a lot, so I'm very interested in participating in making more Arum games.
