@McP Nice map, but I would like to make a suggestion. You have perfectly serviceable street lamps which are fully in keeping with the rest of the tiles. You also have what are clearly indoor candelabra on your outside walls where the tiniest breeze would blow the flames out. They look quite out of place. I suggest that you put wall lamps there instead.
    Oh yes, that's right
    I should have realized that.
    Thank you
  2. @McP cool map sweetie, mood is great, everything looks well placed!:kaoluv:The sideways stairs look just a li'l bit off-kilter tho, the chara isn't stepping close enough to the centre. Any chance you cud alter it? Maybe hafta make it so the graphic occupies two tiles tho...
  3. Oh, yes, that too. I'll fix it. Thanks for letting me know :kaothx::kaojoy:
  4. I was working on my guild hall, this is what I have.
  5. @StarCrunchRPG I was looking at the map and asking myself if the things I see there fit the theme of Guild Hall. It's a bit tricky to say, as you don't give any further information, but based on what I think a Guild Hall is all about I do have a few suggestions.

Curtains of the style you have are more usually found in cosy domestic settings.

If the banner in the left hand room has any importance for the Guild, it is unlikely that they would choose to have a tattered version of it, unless it had deep significance for them. e.g. it's the banner of the guild taken into a long and hard battle against some Big Bad.

I would move the map half a tile up on your tile sheet so that the bottom of it is not sitting on the floor, and people wouldn't have to look at their feet to see what it showed.

Obviously I don't know who sleeps there, but I would have thought that they would need at least a bedside locker for their things.

Fancy red carpets always indicate to me a place of wealth and possibly power. I think it would be more in keeping to have a more subdued carpet, and possibly put it in the sleeping area. The place where you have it will get walked on by muddy boots and would soon look a mess.

Overall, I think the map is too big which is why you have so much empty space. The counter doesn't need to be so long, you don't need all that empty space in the sleeping area. Why is the altar(? if that is what it is?) pushed to the side by the front door? What happens at that table? It can't be eating and drinking as there's nowhere for the food to come from.

All good suggestions made. with this info you might be able to make more, The lore of the guild hall is that it used to be full of adventurers, but during a quest to send supplies to the faraway city of Orala, a lot of those adventurers died from a kingdom who was invading the city, which when the Guild was full of people, it wasn't so barren. The three people inside (red cloaked Man, dude by the armor sets, and the lady at said alter) are the only members that remain, the beds are present for members who don't have a home to go back to, and said alter actually has to do with the main quest, which the heroes return to this guild often. The tattered banner belongs to the guild master (red cloaked man), who is an old war Veteran from a time forgotten, which he explains in the story. The guild master is rich and is a member of the 'Red House' A Mansion belonging to a wealthy family in Valenwood. (Another town that is closer to this place)

Been a while since I showed off some map. Here we go.
  8. @SGHarlekin Nice layout and I like the tonal choices you've made. Just one thing:
The house top left, the one top right (the L-shaped one) and the ones left and centre of the bottom row all have paths which don't quite go up to the doors.

Ah, having said just one thing, I've thought of a second.
Looking at where the implied back wall is of the house top centre, it is possibly hanging over the edge of the hill, particularly on the right where it looks like the hill edge is just above where the bench is.
  9. Inner City-min(1).png

    Done!
  10. @SGHarlekin it looks really nice and cozy. The OCD in me wants the town to be a donut, but the large wood-roofed house on the left side blocks the path from completing the circle. Not a big deal, I'd still cozy up in that town if I were an adventurer.

I feel ya on the ODC, but I felt it needed that little bit of "inconvenience". After all towns are rarely perfect. :D
  12. Here is a part of Aurora Cave where I have been working recently for my project.
    I appreciate the feedback.

  13. @Lycanimuss very pretty and so detailed. Can't tell if it's too dark or not with my screen... the lighting around the lantern though is exquisite.
  14. @Lycanimuss I think it looks really lovely, If a bit too dark at some junctions (namely the back corner and that one Bottle neck at the back right). Brighten it up a tad for the sake of navigation and it would be perfect :thumbsup-right:
  15. @Lycanimuss I love the asthetic to it, makes me feel like I'm exploring a goblin's den. Really beautiful.
  16. @TESTOSTERONE Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad you like the lighting, and I'll make sure to check and improve any areas that appear too dark.

@BubblegumPatty As I mentioned to @TESTOSTERONE , I will improve those areas that appear darker to enhance the map's navigation. I truly appreciate your feedback, thank you.

@StarCrunchRPG Thank you, I'm glad you liked it, maybe there are some goblins, who knows? hahah
  17. hi all!! Here are my very first maps…I’m hoping to be able to put these in my game soon but I want to add lighting or some pizazz. Any feedback appreciated!! IMG_0578.jpegUntitled_Artwork.png
  18. Here's a quick screenshot of how the battles will look like.

    Screenshot - 15_07.png

So far I haven't worked on the balancing yet, but I'm almost done with the battler graphics.
  19. @Zepharex yo map looks nice 'n moody, I really like the foggy effects!:kaoluv:The stairs on the far right look a mite too short, cud you try and make 'em three tiles long and see how that changes the look?

@BlackRoseMii I love yo li'l toy soldier battlers! So cute! :wub One thing I gotta ask, is yo enemy battlers animated? 'Cuz in the screenshot, the enemy kinda blends in with the background a li'l bit, at least if they is static!
  20. @wetwipe98 if those are your first maps, then wow you did a great job. I like the colorful cartoonish aesthetic of those maps.

@BlackRoseMii did one of your battlers brought a book to a sword fight!? ugh the audacity. :D Great job drawing your battlers, they fit really well with the rest of the art style.
