  1. Well, I added few fake light sources for the day and lowered ambient lightning to 80% from 100% but I don't really like it.

  2. That's not what I meant but if it's not your style, you're not obliged to change it.
I prefer my shadows, but to each their own.

I mean, what do you even mean then?

  4. You removed the auto-shadows, right?
So, you know what shadows are.
  5. @Tuomo L
what I think @cabfe is trying to say is that if you look at their picture you can see the shadows of the building. like if your standing in the shadow of a shop or a bench or something, unless it's midday there should be some sign of a shadow around the place. You have building and trees, and none of them are casting any shadowns on the ground, other building or people.

Like I said, unless it's midday there should be some sign of a shadow somewhere. and you screen is too pretty to not have the added depth of shadowplay. Llet the player know their not playing in a 2d world, that this is a place where shadows are cast, and time moves, even if it is just static, it just makes it feel more immersive.

We're not talking overlays or darkening the screen or anything, just that dome shadows would make it look better.

I see that you've added a shadow to the excutuion object thing, but now that looks out of place because there's no other shadows around the town you've made.

Does that make any more sense?
  6. @cabfe I realize it was just an example, but I like the look of that city! Good detail all-around :)

Yup, it does! But, it actually is midday. When the timer runs, it'll turn to evening and then the lights are turned on.
  8. Cool. I see what you mean then!
  9. It's been a while I didn't check here, you people are doing a lot of motivating things as usual.

Happy Halloween everybody, if some makers here remember that map I originally made with VXACE, well it's now fully remastered to take advantage of MV's horsepower, it's likely that I'll fine-tune some more but now I simply try to be done with as much stuff as possible for the big trailer.

I was about to post a screenshot but this forum plays FB videos directly like they are .gif files, so cool.
FB converts videos in 30fps but you can still check the full quality on Youtube if you want. Have a spooky day! :p
  10. @KaYsEr - It actually doesn't show up at all for me sadly :(

Oh, maybe some restrictions in your browser. Let's try a Youtube direct link:

(But the forum will probably transform the link into an embed video too?... Lol worst case scenario just write koruldia after facebook dot com (or twitter whatever), I didn't know some browsers could block those cool forum-extensions.)

Or maybe as a Twitter link it would work, that one includes a .GIF making-of:

Anyway, I like your screenshot's render it looks like the battle screens from Undertale in a topdown view. That's cool. :)
  12. Works for me now! Gotta say, that just looks phenomenal. It's easily one of the most impressive things I've seen in RM.

Just wish there was sound though, but otherwise great work!
  13. Thank you ;) Well yes I'll add sound for the trailer, that thing was more in a "animated GIF" style.

Hey, your messages count is 777, it's your luck-buff time lol. Unless you post another message! :D
  14. Anyone feel like going back to school?

Here is an addition I added to my "Word Farm" game. I know there are glitches in the graphics. Still working them out.

Edit: The character at the top is a Vana Clone. I am sure most know who I am refering to.
  15. I see a few areas on the edge of the portrait that needs cleaning up. But I like my status screen.status_screen_screenshot.jpg
  16. @KaYsEr Pure awesomeness, as always! ;)
  17. Hi everyone i'm still working on my game and i need some feedbacks please :).

  18. @Dusttt I like your tint a lot.
Regarding the shadows, it looks like the light source is from the bottom-left, right? So, I think the wooden part above the doors should cast a shadow that starts higher than currently done. The way they are now, the source feels more top-left rather than bottom-left.
  19. @Dusttt That looks really good! I love the cobble/dirt path; looks really nice. My only comment would be that the flowers look a little out of place because of how bright they are, and they don't cast any shadows. Vampire plants.
  20. sup guys, coming very close to finally having my demo ready, its been what, 2 years? xD
here are some screens of the demo dungeon (the first level after the intro) + a video so you can see some cutscenes in action.
