  1. @Marquise* Yeah, sort of. Most of them are XP RTP edits, the carpet from Ancient Dungeon pack and I made the golden tree behind the throne from scratch.
  2. @callmedan Nice tiles, and well done on the golden tree. The only thing I think I would change is your queen sprite - either have a sitting sprite or have her standing in front of the throne, but standing on it looks weird.
  3. I am working on a map the player can bring up with the press of a button and show their current position (the red cross is obviously a placeholder).

Question, will it look better with the full map or zoomed in (remember, this is not a full screen game)? If I go with the zoomed in version I will probably also give the option of toggling the place names on and off.
  4. @Canini I prefer the larger version. It's not as if the zoomed in version shows more detail, it just shows a smaller area. As a player I like being able to see where I am in the (figurative as well as literal) bigger picture.

I agree, but the game is not fullscreen and the larger map image will end up a bit compressed/hard to read. I also think the zoomed in-view can add to the sense of exploration in the game.
  6. @callmedan Reposition the throne and sprite. Right now she looks like she is standing on the throne. With the right position it looks less obvious.
  7. @Kes @Arcmagik Thank you for pointing it out. I just fixed it. Hopefully it looks better now

  9. *tries to find a word* o_O WOAH~!
  10. How can I improve my menu?

  11. @Melloshi 'General Discussion' is not for feedback on individual projects, it is for looking at broad themes/aspects of game making.

I am going to merge this with Game & Map Screenshots. As it won't have a thread title there, I shall edit your post to include your question.
  12. @Raphael Lourenço *Astral Observatory theme form majora's mask started playing"
  13. @Melloshi You have a high resolution Menu but low res face image. That doesn't look so good.... Don't know if you took it from somewhere or drawed by yourself but it needs more pixels. For now it looks too blurry and pixelated....
  14. Screenshot 6 Island Map.PNG
Since this was a place to share maps and screenshots, I thought I'd add one of mine. This was the first map I ever created in RPG Maker VX, indicated to be one of the four main islands of my world where the player starts off in. That central position with the walls and the house tiles is the central city of the island, and the guarding place of a Plot Element. Any feedback would be awesome!
  15. @Melloshi Sometimes less is more, and there's so much going on there between the four magic circles and all the lightning, it's visually overwhelming to me when something more minimalist might be better. There's a lot of similar colours being used too, maybe pick a warm colour and use it as a spot colour to bring attention where it's needed, ie. the stats themselves? And as mentioned above, the facesets never look that good when scaled up to that size so I would look into some replacement for that.

Mostly finished setup for shooter style mini game in my RPG Game. Your player is the target scope and the enemies are NPCs set to below character/action button so they react when "shot." Most processes are done through normal conditional branches, switches and variables. Yanfly Mini Label plugin makes for nicer HUD displays and can be refreshed via plugin commands.
  17. @Canini I'd prefer the zoomed in version, but only because I enjoy exploration and don't want the map to spoil what's over the horizon.

    @IguanaGuy Lookin' good!
  18. I'd like to show you guys a portion of a work-in-progress dungeon in my project:

It's the entry hall of an abandoned ruin, with light pouring in from the outside.
(The lighting was done with Victors Light Effects)

    And here's an office.

A squatter watches who enters and leaves the ruin.
