  1. ughhhh didn't get much done today. Worked all morning and went out to the movies in the evening, but still managed to squeeze in some game time before the end of the night

    Day 9

    * Tossed designs back and forth between designer friend and myself to tack down the logo

    * did a couple of tiny tile edits

    * Shaded the Snow Queen battler :>

TIME TO NOT SLEEP TO MAKE UP FOR THIS PATHETIC LIST!
  2. Day Nine

I'm not done working for the "day", but I'm going to post now since it's 10 to midnight. I was feeling under the weather this morning and also went out to the movies, so my list is equally pathetic (if not more so).

    • Edited some charactersets for the gathering points that did not have ones yet (various rocks, bushes, roots)
    • Made some base events for said gather points
    • Started populating the existing maps with gathering points. That tree event T.T
    8P82rVo.png
  3. Changed save point graphic to avoid confusion with another event in the undead dungeon.

Began to add sound effects for chests with the new custom sound effects, and remove all unnecessary windows for

dialogue like "Found X" where the yanfly script will now do so without stopping the player.  I hope this speeds up people's

progress without having to stop each time they get something.

Mage Guild was fully integrated, and the overlaying opacity tile set was evented in.  That was much more involved

than I felt it would be, but well worth the trouble.

The large table I designed was flawed, and needed to be realigned, have it's shadows trimmed and edited, and then the bench had to be re positioned.

Evented food wouldn't even fit on it in the previous position.  It's like having ice cream melt before you eat it.  You just sit there looking at it

wondering, why.  Why.  I fix.  Fireplace wasn't accepting a fire event properly and will need some re positioning.  I've gotten to that as well.

I felt I could just slap whatever on the tile set, and forgot to position things properly.  Lesson learned there, even if I do detailing I can get things fubared.

All fixed and nice again.  The fire sits perfectly in it, and the characters can sit and eat at the table as intended.  I re positioned

the table one last time to make it take the least amount of space, to allow better traffic. As I look and interact with it, I may

Lion Banner added to tile set.  Next is the lion flag.  The banner is a recolor of PandaMaru's dragon XP set.  The fireplace and table were constructed out of RTP elements.  My mouse buttons are dying.  Ugh.

Shazzz, I'm missing a point for friday, but I definitely worked on my game & posted about it. I evented a quest, mapped an area, and wrote up all the sidequest descriptions in the quest journal script, I feel like I earned a point! (post here)
I'm not talking about that entry - I gave you a point for that one (and as I said, NOBODY'S points have been posted yet, so you shouldn't see anything for that on the scoresheet anyway). I'm talking about this one, which I quoted along with my comment.
  5. Thursday - 2/13/2014

Worked on some Frankensprites/recolors for the main characters.  I was able to finish Tobias and Raphael.  Still need to do Sarah, Asmodeus, and then face graphics for Tobias, Raphael, and Sarah.

  6. Okay folks, scores are up for week 1. Scoresheet link is in the first post.

NOW if you believe you're missing any points, you can either post here, or send me (and Archeia) a PM, with a link to the post number that you think is missing. To get that, you go to the post, right click on the post number in the top right corner of the post, and paste that into a new PM.

I believe there were only 2 posts not counted - one because it was too brief and gave NO details of what was accomplished, and one because it wasn't an RPG Maker game (which isn't specifically stated in the first few posts, but is assumed, and has always been the rule). Had those two posts been counted, it would not have made a difference to the chain breaks for this week.

And speaking of chain breaks, a Team Yellow die-hard will be along in the not-too-distant future to reveal the gory details, and the consequences for each team ;)
  7. Today was eventing, dialogue, and database work on Eric's Day Off! Will be posting screenshots (hopefully) soon!

In the meantime... I also finished up a DS-style version of Terence (he got a haircut):

    Go, Blue Team!

  8. Day 8
(at least for me since I only do workdays)

    PJBsfCi.png

    Go, Team Red!

You know what's fun? Mapping a river is fun. What is not fun? Mapping the same river two times over for the other 2 frames. Discovering that over a dozen tiles are 1-2 pixels off and remap it agaaaain and agaaaaaaain, not so fun either...

But that's what I've done today. I don't have the feeling I accomplished much today other than getting frustrated. But hey, the river bank and the grass on it is moving right before the eyes of the player, it's a feature! *cough*
  9. Day 7

    The Seven Tower

    - Testing all the maps for the preview version.

    - Now looking for Beta Tester for the Preview Version.

    - Thinking for the Preview Version Exclusive Quest for our Hero will face and complete.

    - Now Thinking all the necessary chat for the NPCs.

Note: Tomorrow Is my prom night so I usually have to work on the game at night. But I will update what up in the morning than for this night.

  10. Day 10

    nqImgDg.png

Ha... so my predictions from yesterday were correct - I had a bit of a hang-over that stopped me from getting too much done, though I am feeling better now so I'll probably hammer out some stuff (that I can add to tomorrow's report, woo~) after this report.

That said, I did get a few things done today. I revised some characterisation for Seer Dell: Eagle, which is great since it really needed doing. I also decided to 'let it go' when it came to the boss contest because I'm just not feeling the game anymore. I was going for something a bit different (hell, I might have a change of heart tomorrow and just whip something up last minute. We'll see) and I'm not convinced it would have worked. Either way, that's out (for now).

I also did some mapping for SD:E. I got me a world map~ Woo! More than just for this game in the series, too - I've a world map for all of the three episodes, which helps a lot when putting in world lore - not that a comedy-heavy series really needs lots of world lore but I kinda enjoy it so why the Frick not, eh? Also did some inner mapping. Tomorrow I've plans for the forest and mine - and I promise not to make a maze dungeon for this game. ;p

Lastly, just a bit of eventing for the characters and going's on in the town. It's working as it should - basically because it's the bare basics so if it didn't there'd definitely be something wrong.

Oh, and did a bit of planning on battle skills. I don't want to stay with what they had in the first game (and may, in fact, go back and change their skills in that one later on) but still want a bit of an homage to them in some way.

Lise will still be able to hit multiple times, but her skill set will be a bit updated. I'm thinking her first 'turn' will be choosing an element and then two attacks to initiate elemental skills based on what stance she chooses - and those stances will depend on what alters she and Dell have visited. So in the first game I'll probably give her the Snake and Lion stances. In the second she'll have those and the Dragon stance, as well as two others that will unlock in the game (Eagle and hidden) - which gives her a total of about 20 skills. Phew!

    And Dell? Well, I'm gonna keep her as a healer but also include something based on the alters as well. I'm thinking summons of a sort, but might also go with unlocked tiers of skills - so using one will unlock the next and so forth. I've still gotta work her out a bit more. >.<;

As for the other three characters - and yes, there's three extras this time, making a five-person battle - I've still got a ways to go before I get their skills worked out. For the most part they'll be pretty simple compared to Lise and Dell, though.

But yeah, looking back I got more done than I first thought. Huh, odd.
  11. February 13, 2014

-Haven't drawn any wolves in my entire life. So i googled some pics and I'm trying to understand the anatomy and bone structure beneath the fur

-Looked for my History of Armor inside our study room for reference on armors.

-Spent most of my day in bed, resting, watching corgi videos. Took a 2 day leave so i can relax at home. Havent been sleeping properly for weeks. (it feels great to wake up late!)

(not too intersting work, looks ugly. yikes! i still need to practice more! how can i draw a wolf-human hybrid?!)

  12. Day 10

It's pretty much going up to 2 feet of snow over here, so I am uploading the progress I did this early morning right now instead of finishing up my sprite base + animating/creating a couple more doors, but I am pixeled out regardless, so I doubt I'd get anything more done anyway.

I made a plethora of doors, but not sure I'm happy with all of them:

    Spoiler
And I also finished up the status bars I'll be using for the game's menu systems:

I'm starting to like my odd color choices, as it's looking more and more nostalgic  :)

What I learned today: Blue is becoming my new gray, apparently; fitting since I'm part of team Blue.

  13. Day Day

I passed out this night, so I couldn't update my daily post on time. I couldn't do much today, but at least I did something. One of the main heroine normal animation is done. .-.

    Spoiler

  14. GMD Day 10 - February 13, 2014

*Worked more on eventing and polishing the intro cutscene.

*Found some fitting music for said cutscene.

*Databased some skills and made their animations.

    nqImgDg.png
  15. day 7 for me, today I wokerd on scripting a scene, made a few sprites then ran out of time, so short day for me but I got something done.

    Spoiler
So I added some 'surfers' to the game, filled their dialogue and made it so a surfing mini game event starts after the conversation... to bad the mini game does not work, but that will be for another day!
  16. Day 10:

I worked on a new ReStaff track for VXAN and also worked abit more on a few commissions ,not to much today (really tired for some reason :x)

  17. Game making drive, day 9, February 13th:

Still working on the first area, did a little bit of beta-testing and caught a few glaring errors (and a lot of typos). I'm getting more and more satisfied with the game mechanics, the reason I haven't moved on to inside of the village just yet is because that will rely most heavily on the stealth/horde mechanic and I wanted to get that pretty much perfected in the much less populated woods area of the game before tackling that particular cacophony of eventing just waiting to go to hell on me. Added Yanfly's Gab window to the game for the singular purpose of displaying a non obtrusive message to the player whenever they are behind cover that successfully obscures them from the hungry gaze of zombies. So now they won't have to guess which objects I perceive to be sufficient cover or not, which is always a good thing.

I didn't know that there were consequences for chain breaks (I thought it just meant that no one from that team's posts for that day counted) It looks like all teams but yellow had at least one though... unknown consequences concern me deeply, as I dislike both consequences and the unknown.
  18. Day 10

Well today I finished and submitted my Boss encounter competition entry! Worked out all the kinks, grammar and spelling errors there were, balanced the boss fight and polished up the ending sequence~ (I swear I've never whored out the formula bar so much in my life!!)

    C.Avian out!~

    8P82rVo.png
  19. Day10: Again not much (man it seems I've done jack squat lately OTL).

Polished previous events with finsihed text script and resources (oh god the pain of reviewing events).

Finished the writing for the first chapter, now I must event it. *crawls into a hole and cries*

May I direct you to the second post in this thread, called RULES :)

#2 and #7 refer to chain breaks, and explains why Team Yellow has none.

The consequences of a chain break are an additional challenge for the whole team, which encourages you to work EVEN MORE on your game. If enough people rise to the challenge the chain break is broken and your team reacquires the points that are being held, and in some cases, earns even more points as a bonus.

If your goal is to get as much done on your game as possible, you should welcome chain breaks and what comes after them :)
