It is all right Marquise*
Probably that was my bad.
I tagged him first, then corrected it putting the asterisk to target you.
It seems thought that the forum sent a notification, that the user received, obviously didn't know what it was all about. So, to recover from the awkward situation they just said thanks. It is something like " Ok I don't understand but thank you I guess".
There is probably no impersonation, just a... series of unfortunate events.
That told I admit that this is my bad, not their. If the person speaks on your behalf in the future that would be another story, but for this strange post, it is me who is responsible. -
Sorry @marquise , my bad! I know in almost 3 years you were just peeking in and after a week after that post we chimed you. You are a very silent member thought.
And my apologies @Dreadshadow , I can understand; I am usually too slow on my mouse to double-click to username suggestions right when sending messages, so I guess, it might happen to you too and like me you end the name yourself and then, that detail is usually to well... a wee bit that kinda case. LOL
Still, I had so many trouble with my computer these days then new browser updates and just logging here with a warning from it about the page and I click here and... XD Awww, I cannot take my anxieties by the scruff of the neck and bottle them ^^, I really kinda started to add to all that happened and then send that PM (that first was also miss-send telling me you didn't exist at first.) Let say, happy to had blown a gasket for this small inconvenience thought. Would had been a very ba series of IRL "EVENTS". ^^; (Yeah all that for apologizing for a Dad joke. ^^) -
It's ok @Marquise* and there is no need to apologize, that was really my bad, not yours. Just a random mistake that caused a scene out of nowhere.. :)
-
It seems that Events MV is broken for some mysterious reason.
I will build it again and hopefully it will work fine for all. -
The game or the link.
Hope the game is fine. You'll never guess what I've just started to do ^^...
And thanks~! Love your Events games. -
@Marquise* now i am intrigued to know.
It actually happens that html5 apps dont run locally (or you would risk XSS attack vulnerability so browsers are too strict with that) thus I have to somehow provide a solution for the mac users, like a how-to put the game in a server webfiles page. -
OOOOOOOoh... That! Yeah nothing sacred and it gets sad when something should work but it leaves opportunities to malicious peoples eventually robbing the good of it all in the end. :x
And yeah I try to make my very first game, made all my decision tree on paper but now am stomped by my intro GENE scene that starts on autorun but keeeps looping :/ Just worked once and upon action on player contact, but the other in same conditions also looped. :S -
I am so happy for you Marquise!
-
Oh boy, Eric. idk if I should feel pity for him, or yell "BRO you gotta chill!"
Still, give my thanks to him for his parallax mapping tutorial, would you? I shall... strategically copy that exact same technique for my own projects. AHAHAHA
...In any case. Thank you, @Dreadshadow, for making this! (And the first VX Ace game as well.) I can see that there's a lot of effort put into it! (Really, thanks for that how-to on parallax mapping. That was very helpful!)
However, if I may offer suggestions:
(1) It might be better to split up your lessons to smaller chunks. A bit like what you did for the previous game. I had a hard time following the tutorial on event commands because of the sheer amount of info there was in one sequence.
(2) I liked what you did with the first room: Interactable chests containing tutorials. YMMV but I personally feel it's more pleasant to interact with things rather than having things pop up out of nowhere as I walk. An idea: the tutorials are put in visible, interactable obstacles (or NPCs?), that disappear after players read them.
Welp, that was long. Sorry about that! If you read them all, you're awesome!
*disappears to silently lurk the forum again* -
Suggestion 1: You are absolutely right. That was a big mistake on my behalf.
Suggestion 2: Oh you mean THAT room with the furniture everywhere on the way. Yes, it would be better to have npcs next time. Who knows? ;)
