  2. My immediate response when I opened the FF7 spoiler was: wow, that's good.
  3. Foot soldier and you'll have me sold. Finally having a reason to test out the Alpha ABS I bought.

I've always loved FF7 and wanted to recreate the map for MV. Was messing around and thought Midgar would be a good start for a world asset. I want to do a cool Gold Saucer world map asset too!

Im working on a Splinter currently, but I feel he is too cartoonish? I'm not sure but it's wiggin me out lol

I want to do Shredder, Super Shredder and a bunch of variety of footclan soliders. I made a list of all the 90s characters I could think of and there is like 120 lolSplinter1.PNG
  5. These are all SO good. I love the FF7 castle. Animated really nice. Splinter looks great, too. Are you only making the artwork? Or do you plan to use these in your own game?

Also... don't forget Bebop & Rocksteady :kaojoy:

You think the Splinter would pass the test and be recognized by all? I'm still on the fence about his character so far.

Oh I plan to use them all.

Have you read/watched Ready Player One before? How its all 80s lore for video games and pop culture and what not?

I'm doing a spin on that but everything 1985-2005 (my childhood up until adulthood for me). Its fun because I got my kids into all things 90s like cartoons and movies that I grew up with. Every character and asset I make is vetted by them lol

Yeah, I remember liking Ready Player One. Only saw it once, though. I need to watch it again!

I think people will recognize Splinter as long as they're familiar with him from the 80's cartoon, and YES... late 80's and early 90's were the best! 1980-2000 for me (so we're close).

Just throwing out an idea for a game using these... main character is from the present. He starts up an old boxed television in his grandparents basement... and gets warped back to that era's. Cheesy dialogue and catch phrases, over the top fighting/action...

I think he looks great. IMO, about his look being off, just rework his eyes. Make his eyes a little more squinted (if possible)and "keen" with a little bit of anger (brows slanted in a. Scrunched bridge of nose.) TLDR: Make his eyes a little more angry.

Making his robe clasp silver or gold would be a nice touch of easy detail and including his cane would make him a little more recognizable.

Another easy detail would be a little chip cut out from one of his ears.

Miyamoto Usagi would be so cool but definitely up there on the difficulty to make. Hey! When you're done remaking all 120 characters on your list you can start doing the original RPG characters! I'm thinking you could start with the Terror Bears! ;)

Definitely want to do that with the cheesy lines haha Cringy can be funny. Doom and Destiny is a great RPG series that I love that did somewhat of a spin on making fun of the whole genre in game. I could see myself doing that.

I was thinking along the lines of a mix between Ready Player One and Sword Art Online. Make the character trapped in some setting and the creator is from our time growing up, mad about how flashy and lack of story games are presently, so they want the world to experience all the greatness from 1985 to 2005 type deal.

Definitely going to tweak the eyes. Thank you! The side profile is perplexing to say the least. Chibi style is hard once you get into it lol

Added Foot Soldier! Hope it's too your liking. Tried a mix of old video games and 90s original movie.$TMNT-FootSolider.png

Mark Caso, the original guy in the Leonardo suit in the TMNT 90s movies liked my Pixel Sprite designs!!!

Looks good. Are you able to add his spiked shoulder pads? I think that would help. His arms appear to be a bit bare right now. What about his purple cape?

LOVE the foot soldiers!! Only thing I'd recommend here is giving them a bit more color. Right now they're one solid color (other than the headband). I think these would look better if you gave their body, maybe, two colors... the classic purple and gray with blue pants? Or maybe the black and gray ninja outfit later shows had them in?

I can't believe I forgot the shoulder pads *FacePalm* hahah

Edited and added the cape. Attached to the main TMNT post

Next I'll work on the foot soldiers, it was hard trying to find a balance between the modern movies and the 90s movies
  19. Oh, that looks really good now that you added the cape and shoulder pads!

The foot soldiers... I did find some on google wearing all black with the red bandana. So that would work. I think I'm comparing all of this to the 80's cartoon and there are various versions LOL

Yeah, I based them off the original first movie. Where they are training and Danny watches the headband ceremony.
