This year's Advent Calendar was just truly spectacular. Thank you so much for all you do throughout the year, but especially in December. Now that I've taken some time to carefully review all the presents, I'd like to tell you how I'm planning on using them.
I always love your fountains and these were spectacular. Every major town deserves its own unique, animated fountain, and, with all these choices, why not?
I very much liked the large horse images, presumably enemies, of 2021 and now we have the matching charsets this year. I can't decide whether I like the pinto or the palomino most. Even if one of these horses don't make it into my party, they'll definitely have a place on the farm.
Having a completed queen set to go with the 2021 king set is much appreciated. Faces and busts with emotions truly keep the player engaged during dialogues. The face/bust sets for the kitsune and the mermaid are well appreciated, and I did love that annoyed/vexed 'how DARE you!' look of Actor 3-2. But, can we talk about the Mushroom-hatted Gnome Face emosets w/ matching bust emosets, SV Battler, weapons and matching weapon icon HOW COOL IS THIS! My overall favorite this year.
Even if I never event a board game as a mini-game in any of my games, I do enjoy creating puzzles. And you get tired of pushing rocks around, so these game markers are going to come in really handy. Who knows? Maybe I'll someday event a Sorry game. Those dice will come in handy as well.
Now the tilesets. I am horrible at mapping. Everything looks like it's made with a kid's stamp kit. I've tried mixing up tilesets to get more random, natural effects, but oftentimes the results just clash. What I love about these tiles is that they all play nicely with each other and the default tiles, so mixing/mashing/clumping helps to keep my maps from being boring and nothing looks horribly out of place. The moat drawbridge, though, now that is going to a superb touch to the overworld map.
I love that your interior tilesets always contain side facing furniture, makes the rooms so much more realistic. Then you went and posted the Acorn homes tileset. JACKPOT!!!! A home village for those mushroom-hatted gnomes, nestled inside a giant tree dungeon. This one is already in the works.
I've always really disliked the MZ default crystals. I preferred the MV crystals, though I wasn't actually crazy about them, just thought they were better than the MZ. And now, here are crystals that I love. And the optional shattering effect is such a bonus.
The napping cat needs to find a home with Grandma.
When I decide which math puzzle to associate with the Gnomes, I'll post a pic.
Happy New Year and thank you again.
