  1. This is something I wanted to do from Day One of having MZ:
    Dobermann_fixed_Avery.png
Cropping dog tails and ears are luckily forbidden in my home country and I personally fully support this. There is no good reason to mutilate an animal for mostly look reasons.
The default dog is very obviously a dobermann, and I fixed it to how it is supposed to look like.
  2. Lovely @Tea's Jams stuff reminded me of all the gaps in the MZ RTP^^ Get her stair-matching carpets here.
There is this stairs in the Sci Fi Set:
    1605992893032.png
... but as there are no SF indoor floor tiles, there is no matching floor, no matching carpet...

    So, I made some magic:
    1605993512634.png
As the floor and carpet scraps are extremly small, it was not that easy to get a nice seamless pattern, but I guess I made it work :3

I was not sure how to cut that, as in MZ it does not really matter wheather you place the floor tiles or carpet stuff on A5 or B. So I placed all in one file for easier saving. The left is an A2 autotile, the rest is to be placed where you need it^^
If I make more indoor stuff I might recut everything into the seperate tileset sheets with other stuff.
  3. Welcome to this year's advent calendar.
2020 has been hell of a ride and I hope you all can get some joy out of that event.
As every year I will post a daily resource until christmas, in the style of an advent calendar event. An advent calender is usually a box with 24 tiny doors, and behind each there is a surprise - usually candy.
My calender here is filled with all types of resources made for RMMZ.

This was a lot of work and while I enjoyed making it, I would be happy to hear your opinions, suggestions, thoughts and whatever you want to tell me. If you like something, let me know, if something is off, let me know as well. We all need those little uplifting things these days, and feedback is what makes my day.

I thought it would be fitting to start off the calendar with an entrance, so
    Day 1: Stone door
    Stonegate_AberyMZ.png
What could lie behind these doors? A temple? A dungeon?
Did we have to cast a spell to open it? Or pull a hidden trigger?
The giant stone door comes with 3 different opening animations and can be used whereever you feel it fits - though I guess there is some fantasy stuff involved, if we talk about giant stone doors, right? ;3
  4. It begins! Thanks for these treats every year. ^_^
  5. Great way to start advent. With awesome sprites!! And awesome stone door. Thanks Avery.
  6. Loving the door and the three seperate animations to open it! You are making me wish I had MZ!
  7. Such a terrific way to start! The doors themselves seem to be beckoning "And so it begins...." What a lovely gift you are.
  8. :ptea: this is like the best event in the RPG maker community i look forward to it every year
Keep up the good work Avi, i look forward to see what you blow us away with this year <3
  9. And you thought no one would comment :LZSwink:

This is a great start! I think, I like door number 1 the best, fitting for something that would open after solving a puzzle.
Feedback time: A recolor in grey would be nice, too, but that's easily done ourselves.
  10. Day 2: Pine Tree
There is only a snowy pine tree in the default RTP, and the snow covers so much, that unsnowing it meant drawing most of it from scratch... which on the other hand meant, now that I was on it anyways, I made a bigger one as well and the thinner one and added some trunk variation.
Now you can make pine forests, add some variation to your normal forest maps or add some random pines whereever they are needed :3
    PineTree_Avery.png

    @WaywardMartian And it continues ;3

@BrentBAM Yeah, I felt like a door at the beginning was just fitting I'm glad you like it!

@Guardinthena I had thought about wheather I should make an MZ calendar, but it just has the least resources yet and there are now also MZ users without MV x_x It was a tough decision, but at some point you maybe have MZ as well^^

@Lady_JJ Awww, thank you! Yes, I felt like the door and the start of the calendar would like up perfectly!

@Monkeynugget Psssst, don't let the Scarestaff organizers hear that ;D Even though it is a ton of work, this is something I enjoy a lot as well. Not sure about the blowing away, but we'll see :D

@Candacis And I am still insecure when I look in the calendar folder xD True, a grey version might be very useful, maybe with a matching wall as well... I'll see what I can do^^ Door one is my favourite as well :3
  11. Thank you for doing these every year; they truly are an incredible gift.
  12. Yes, those pine trees are my favorite! I already told you, I was waiting for more pine trees to make a map with.
Feedback time: Again, a recolor, maybe something more blue-ish, would be useful. I like the little details at the edges of the needles.
  13. These are so cool! I love your advent calendar idea. These are both great and two things I wished were in the RTP. Definitely gonna put those stone doors in my castle tonight. Thank you!
  14. Torn between having to post super late or too early I went with too early today, so, say hello to
    Day 3: Icons

    IconsAveryMVZ.png
Since my MV Icons are from scratch, you can use them of course in MV as well :) Here is an expansion that will fill some gaps in the set and give you all some more basic fantasy icons.
  15. I absolutely love those stone doors and also how there are three options for how they open. Thanks for sharing them; you make amazing assets! :kaoluv:
  16. I love your icons, Avery. :) And I think you can never have too many skill icons.
  17. Yeah, Icons! I think the ninja star is my favorite. And great details on the ring.
  18. @Avery 's Advent! The most wonderful time of the year! :) Thanks for the great resources. :)

    -MIA
  19. Yay! It is indeed the most wonderful time of the year. Loving everything so far, especially the icons - so much detail in so little space!
  20. When I was mapping with MZ, I noticed something that bugged me:
    fitting.png
The pillar on the left and the pillars on the right have the same pattern, but neither the same color (one is warm, one is cold grey) and one is worn down and the other is not. Maybe that is useful when you want to map a map of a temple that got recently some brand new pillars in addition to the old ones that is useful, but overall, I rather wanted them to fit.

    Day 4: Stone Pillars

    Temple Pillars_Avery.png
Most of the pillars was rebuilt and edited out of other tiles, I think only the pattern in the middle remained exactly the same. I also added some more variety, in case you rather have a different middle piece or a not ornamented pillar.

To round it up, I recolored the A4 wall here to match the pillars, so you can have a whole temple made from the same type of stone, of you feel like that :)
    TemplewallA4_Avery.png

And as @Candacis had suggested, I also recolored the stone door from day one to a grey stone tone, that in this case matches the other tiles.

Enjoy and I hope to see some pretty temple maps from you some day ;3
