Thank you for all these interesting, quality assets. I definitely plan to use some in my game project.

I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the time and effort you have put into these sets. So much heart and detail has gone into this craft and you're offering it for free. ;u; Thank you so much! These are all just so beautiful even to look at. :)

So, the generator is a favourite addition for many, since making your own custom characters without it is not exactly easy if you are not an artist.
But one downside of it is that these generated characters lack a certain range of expression - you can do a bit with the closed eyes and eyebrows and some of the mouths work, but it can be quite tricky depending what you want to express.
Since this is coming from the side of playing around with resources and not a specific project, I just pressed random until I got a result with the default face parts that didn't look like it came straight out of hell:
The dice decided I'd be working with Eyes_p17 and Mouth_p11.
Well, then I did my thing (which was fun) and exported them into the correctly named format for the generator (which was aweful) and voila, this is what she can express now! The eyebrows are just the default ones, sometimes moved up or down as needed.

Hey, @Avery! Thanks for the dope tiles!
I'm working on a new 2.5D RPG, and I looking to use Crocotile to recreate this scene as a test scene to flesh out the systems.
I was hoping you could do an edit of these chairs:

To fit the auditorium's palette?
From there, we can make it into a 3D mesh. -
If all you need is a color adjustment, her terms allow for personal edits. You might not even need to manually recolor anything. You could load it in GIMP or some other free image editing program and play around with the HSL slider to get it closer to your current chairs in a few minutes.I was hoping you could do an edit of these chairs to fit the auditorium's palette?

I know this was posted so many years ago now but I'd like to ask if there's a tutorial out there I could follow for how to install and use these world map auto tiles. I unfortunately don't really have much skill with art and I'm struggling to get this to work. It doesn't seem to be plug and play as I can't just replace A2 with that as I lose a lot of what I'm currently using from A2. Do I need to somehow use GIMP to replace pieces on my sheet? I don't know how to do that correctly as just trying to put it in place with my mouse seems... hard.Third advent sunday and Day 11!
Today we have a HUGE batch of stuff , that kinda happened one by one and piled up.
It started with these autotiles, I wanted to have some more variation and edited the trees out of the little villages and turned them into autotiles. I then continued with bascially every type of tree that I could snag from B and with something akin to the mountains on the C sheet - I kinda liked those dark brown mountains. Another Idea was to have the large desert mountain loop, so you can map a large canyon that is basically one piece.
Said and done, I rounded them out with street autotiles. Those are meant to be only mapped either 1 tile wide or high, that way they work perfectly!

There's a tutorial here on the forum. It's the same for both MV and MZ, but I suggest using a guide. Here's an A2 guide I made for my own purposes, and you're absolutely welcome to use it too.I know this was posted so many years ago now but I'd like to ask if there's a tutorial out there I could follow for how to install and use these world map auto tiles. In the future, however, I suggest going to this thread if you have any future questions about resources. It's actually against the rules to ask those questions here, so this is the thread you'll need to post in:
Resource Support I'm glad to help, though. And don't beat yourself up over this mistake. Oopsie happens! -
Gotta get those veggies started for a full harvest! :)

Oooooo I love this farmer!! :o Would be beyond amazing seeing some more farming bits like this if you do any! :D <3
-
Normally I am a lurker, but I wanted to pop out of my hidey-hole and say a huge thank-you, Avery, for everything you share with this forum! Going through this thread is a journey like none other, and fun from beginning to end.
-
Oh wow, love that farmer animation! Looks amazing Avery!
-
I know this is always my reaction to stuff here, but... EEE!
Honestly though, I'd do anything to see more farming stuff. Because I'm planning to create my own version of the famous yet cancelled Angry Birds game, Agri Birds. And it's even taking some ideas from Angry Birds Epic, which I played as a kid and really sucked at.
Maybe I'll talk to Sega and Rovio about reincarnating Agri Birds, and present my little private video project as a prototype. Man, that would have been an awesome game. So sad that it fell through. -
Me: I should really stash everything I make away for advent...
Also me: Haha, KA-CHING!
@Fortunastreet's suggestion of a piggybank had me immediatly thinking about an animation for it - I could also see that one to be used somehow whenever the party recieves some money? Not sure how I'd implement it, but it felt like something fun.
Also, the piggy is fully from scratch, I think for that size I am really good at nailing the style by now :3
If you have fun suggestions that could maybe actually make it into the advent calendar, let me know. -
That is insanely adorable. Nice touch with having both silver and gold coins~ Excellent addition. Thank you!

Thank you for the early present Santa. :ehappy:

Would you possibly be able to create/share the SV Battler for Actor3_2? I saw that it was not on the google sheet. Thank you for everything you do.I am wwriting something quick up for Day 13, because I am actually elbow deep in a dough for Lussekatter, the traditional swedish saffron rolls that are made and eaten on that day. I am not Swedish at all, but I still have fun trying food and traditions from all over the place!
St Lucia is actually a light related celebration, and so...

I made some lights to put into your houses/castles/dungeons!
I included on and off versions each and made a 4-directional wall piece for that perfect ambient light!
To round it up, they come in various metals for each budget!
And St Lucia also sports beautiful ladies, and while this is a little of a stretch cause they do not wear the right clothes, I have the SV battlers for two beautiful ladies here:

So, with the news of this website getting deleted in December, what are your plans for all the assets you've made over the years, avery? (using some of the scifi recolors you did, btw. I'm loving them, thank you for everything you've shared with the community)
-
Hi Avery,
I am not as active on the forums anymore but with the recent news, I just wanted to take a minute to give an extra special thank you to you for all the resources, tutorials, advent gifts, and everything from you over the years. You contribution to the community is immeasurable.
Words don't feel enough but they're all I've got at the moment - for me personally, your generosity and and artistry have been and will always be so meaningful - and when so much of the world is hard and so much of life is hard, these are the things that remind me of good in the world too.
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart, and if I ever do manage to complete a game one day, I will track you down and make sure to give you a free copy of the game. :) -
Goodbye.
I have to say, this is not what I had on my bingo card for this year, or honestly, for any time in the nearer future. The main reason I had settled here was that as the official forum, there was a stability and unspoken promise of consistency that elsewhere was bound to the mood of the private admins.
And now we are here. Nearly 12 years after I showed up and started doing my thing first mainly and then nearly exclusively here.
After making resources for a certain project I got stuck on just making and sharing them as that gave me more joy than continuing with deving, even though I finished some projects for my education over time.
This forum has been my home on the internet for a long time. Even if I didn't post everything that was going on in my rl, this forum accompanied me through many life changes and on my journey in general.
It is really hard to find the right words and as much as I want to address some people directly, I would forget so many people who are as important. One week was just not enough to sort my thoughts properly and I am still very overwhelmed.
Thank you to everyone who made my time here worthwile. To everyone who brightened my days, gave me a smile and to those who even became friends.
I will miss this forum, I will miss the interactions, I will miss the advent calendars and probably many more things that I will just remember I forgot to add when I can't post anymore.
I cannot say if I continue being actively around. I am on the refuge discord and some people like the advent crew have a direct link to me for sure. If you finished a commercial game to give me the key, that is the way to hunt me down. This whole thing is really overwhelming for me and I don't know how I will proceed. As of now I am just grieving the part the forum had in my life.
Please remember that my terms, especially when it comes to reposting and posting of edits still apply. Pretty sure most of my threads will be saved with the waybackmachine, I just assume they are what people would consider useful.
I wish I had the words to say how much I will miss this place and the people here. And certainly that I had more time to say goodbye.
True story: I had two resources for advent done and was scribbling on a project idea, now I can't even get myself to open the engine. -
I will miss your profile posts. :usad:
