oh man, these are some epic fantasy doors! they're great!@Fortunastreet Indeed! I think it doesn't help that it was added later as a free 'DLC'.
@Lady_JJ Good to know. Any MV character in particular you'd like to see MZ-fied someday?
@DBrys23 Not that I know of, no :)
Open Sesame
Have you ever looked at the Gate1 doors and thought: Wow, that right one looks really nice, but I don't need it to be magical? Well wonder, no more :D And for good measure, I've magicified the other two doors.

This blasted door has been a forever wip, so I figured I would finish it for Advent this year. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the WIP anywhere, so I restarted from scratch. ;_;
Hopefully my suffering was worth it to someone. -
Autotiles no, least I can't think of any. But for normal tiles, there's not much book clutter/piles of books (usually book tiles are just singular), or statuettes (full sized statues, but rarely statuettes), and clusters of potion bottles instead of one. That's all I can think of suggestions-wise, sorry.:rswt2:@The_Eerie_One Thank you. Glad you liked the fairies. :) Any (auto)tile in particular you feel is missing while mapping magical places? Or that you wished you had more options for?
Hijo de la Luna
It's been a while, but we're back to a fairy sprite today. Avery's Moon temple resources were quite inspiring (and Spotify playing Hijo de la Luna right after listening to Alegria for day 6 also helped) and I wanted to make a fairy/creature that could be found in such a temple.

Now whether this son of the moon is an ally or enemy I leave up to your imagination ;)
Love the lunar fairy! -
Love the clowns and fairies! And it's really nice to have a charming female clown.
-
Love the Moon Fairy. It's going to make a great addition to Avery's Moon Temple resources.
-
@Fortunastreet Yes :D More to come (if I have time to make them at least :aswt:)
@Starbird_Resources Thank you :wub Here's hoping I see that right door in more games now.
@The_Eerie_One Noted! That definitely gives me some ideas, thanks :)
@Lady_JJ Thank you. The female clown is one of my favourites as well. :kaoluv:
@GalacticGod Thank you. :)
Long Lived the Queen!
Sure the default resources come with a lovely queen portrait, but she's still pretty young, especially next to her king, so why not have an older queen to accompany him?

You can find the matching sprites either in the first post or here. -
She could also be used as a queen dowager if your story calls for it!
-
@Solar_Flare Yup, she works great for that as well. Or she could be a very long reigning Queen regnant.
Steampunk Girl
From the makers of Fantasy Girl, Modern Girl and Sci-Fi Girl, comes a brand new resource: Steampunk Girl.

If there's two things my Advent is known for it's (1) way too many fairies and (2) children through all time. I remember asking both in 2023 and 2024, what sort of (time) settings people were using for their games hoping to see which time periods are in high use. Honestly, the answer was fantasy or modern, so not very helpful in my case.
Anyway, we've got Steampunk tilesets out there, and I've played Steampunk games made in RPG Maker (though it's not as popular anymore as it used to be), so I figured I'd make a small contribution to the genre. -
That Sprite is adorable. She could use an updo version though. Always tie your hair when handling powertools. She gives me tinkerer vibes. xP
That feedback on genres is not very helpful indeed.
More niche genres please.
I remember wanting to play around with dieselpunk years ago. Jakub Rozalski's Mech Illustrations surely look dope. Perhaps i should actually do so. -
I've just remembered that it's time for the advent calendars. You're doing a great job as usual. I want you to know that I've been using your fairies from last year. And even if I'm late in answering your question, I'd very much like to have face/portraits for the fox girl
-
@DarwinDarstein Thank you :wub Haha, yeah, if she's a tinkerer, some sort of updo of that hair is needed. I left it loose, since it's more youthful that way. To be fair to everyone who replied back then, it's not like they knew I was gauging to see what resources to make. Maybe response would have been different, but probably not. :aswt: There's so many punk gunres out there, I don't think I'm very familiar with dieselpunk.
@Saneterre Happy to see you here again :) And very happy to hear you've been using last year's fairies. Hopefully this year's will also find their way into your game ;)
One Short Day
Due to popular demand (from myself), we're back for a part 2 of the Emerald City. I believe this one will actually be useful to most people. ;) @jonthefox, this one's for you.

Green (with gold) carpets

Some (exterior) city walls

And some tables.
I was originally going to post something else today, but I'm just too tired physically and mentally to actually work on what was planned and well this was for 90% already finished. -
The tiles themselves, even without seeing on a map, look so perfectly Oz-ish! I can just see those LolliPop kids dancing on the streets now!
-
Well, the water fairy is getting into my game for sure, and I think the emerald city is also going to. The map sprites at the minimum. I've always loved map tiles so much, I think we never have enough.
-
the steampunk girl should go take one of my planes for a spin!
-
Being that green is one of my fave colors.. I love the different shades of rugs!!
It's... dare I say.. wonderful! Hehe.
Excellent work!
-MIA -
This cracked me up. :stickytongue: Are you making an Oz game? Would love to play it!Due to popular demand (from myself)
-
@Lady_JJ Thank you. :D I haven't tested them out in game, so hopefully there's no issues :kaoswt2:
@Saneterre Great to hear :D There's definitely some more fairy stuff coming. ;)
@Starbird_Resources I was thinking the same thing! :D On the other hand I'm not sure how safe it is to have a little kid fly oneof those.
@M.I.A. Green is one of my favouite colours as well! Well, to be more precise I'm a big fan of jewel-toned colours (especially combined with gold) and emerald is so pretty. :wub
@SeaPhoenix Haha, no. :guffaw: My old XP game (which I will return to one day) does have a Dorothy in it, as well as yellow brick roads, but it's more of a Grimm fairytale game, than an Oz one.
We Could be Nobles
Last year I did the male Nobles from XP for MZ. Well, almost all of them. Eagle eyed users might have noticed, but I skipped Noble03 last year. I had started work on him, but hated how his clothes looked in my WIP and just stopped working on him. Until today that is!
Introducing Noble03:
This young man came to court to woo noble ladies (or lords) and to cozy up to royalty. Or perhaps he's a (foreign) prince himself hoping to find himself a royal spouse?
And some recolours to go along with him:

I know I'm really late today, fell asleep on the sofa yesterday and finishing this took much longer than I expected :kaoeh: -
That's a great conversion. It looks amazing!
-
Oooh.I really like all the variations in clothes and hair colors for these. Thanks for making em! :)
-
I love the flamboyance of those nobles! I can see a scarlet pimpernel NPC in the works. :)
