  1. Your Canvas
A psychological text-based horror game set during three therapy sessions with different time periods where the player will be presented with various choices for deciding the outcome of the story.
The main method that Your Canvas uses to judge you is by letting you play its various mini-games, during which it will remember your decisions and change according to them.

Your Canvas has various features and mechanics such as:

    • Letting you customize your own environment.
    • Random loot and items, making every playthrough unique.
    • A journey through psychological psyche.
    • RPG elements like stats, magic, weapons and buffs.
    • Story-Rich worlds buried within the mini-games.
    • Lots of replayability due to the roguelite nature of the game.
    • Different and interesting ways to approach every encounter.
    • An overarching plotline.
    • An original soundtrack made by my good friend JDivko.
The game has 9 different and unique mini-games.

The first session contains 3 games set during a medieval fantasy setting.

The second session contains 3 games set during a victorian setting.

And the last and final session contains 3 games set during a sci-fi dystopian setting.

The main plot is a game of pretend with your so called Adviser. A person claiming to take the role of a therapist while forcing you to play his little games. What is he planning? How far will he take it? And, what will be the conclusion to your story?

My main inspirations were the Silent Hill series, Fear & Hunger (without most of the adult stuff) and old-school text-based adventure games.

I've been developing this game for about a year now and it is finally done. I am very excited to post it here and will be really thankful to anyone willing to give it a try and share their thoughts. I also have a trailer if you feel like checking it out.

Credits can be found in the folder of the game.

  2. by the look and description, it's not my game, however,
from what I see it looks unique, but why default windows
    inside battles?

I would try to match this instead of default window skin,
with battle huds or SRD_HUDMaker, you can give it a better look.

good luck with your project :)

Thank you so much, I'll take a look. :thumbsup-left:
  4. Ok, I played this for about 20 minutes.

I'll be honest, I found it boring and didn't want to continue. It's largely an old-school text adventure where you go west, north, south, east to different areas, sometimes pick up a couple items, sometimes fight someone who's there. There were large lengths of times where I was just clicking through textboxes and it described things that were happening and what my character was doing against a black screen with no input of my own or change to the visuals. I was just told that my character won or lost this battle or that battle purely in text without me (the player) actually doing anything besides clicking through text. If the game actually had the player fight in these battles it would have been more engaging and feel like I actually controlled the outcome instead of being a spectator.

I also felt the windows and text boxes were small compared to all the dead space on the screen, especially when it was blank.

Maybe fans of old-school text adventures would like this but it didn't interest me enough to keep playing.

Hey, thanks for willing to give the game a try. While the game does have a lot of text and not much in the way of visual imagery, it also has combat. I tried to use minimal amounts of combat in some of the game's chapters while letting others be more combat and survival heavy, but I can assure you that even in the chapter you picked there are still quite a few fights. The event you are referring to where your character just wins is the only one like that in the game and is more of something that I put in because I was running out of ideas. I like making my games more story focused so I can understand how that might bore some people out and I know that this wasn't a very good first impression for you, but I still encourage you to give the game another chance as there is way more to it than this and if that part of the game is boring then I suggest that you try the other chapters who are more combat focused. Once again thank you for willing to give the game a chance and I totally understand if you didn't like it.
  6. Hello!
I played the game some time, and I need to say it was fun, however after some time save button dissapeared... I don't know if it should be like this or not, but I need to say that it made me a little anxious ToT Though I really like the game's artstyle and ideas, in my opinion you could create a remake of this with music, visuals and everything generaly making the game feeling like a fantasy world with options to control it by yourself. Good luck! :kaojoy:

Hey! Thank you so much for giving the game a try!
Really glad you enjoyed it and yes I feel that I should expand on it more and especially on the visuals.
