YEP_BaseParamControl + YEP_X_BattleSysATB = Slow battles/Bad FPS

  1. I know Yanfly doesn't officially support the ATB plugin any more, so I was wondering if anyone here could help me with this. Apologies if this isn't the correct board to post this in, please feel free to move the thread to the correct place if necessary.

On the latest version of RMMV (1.6.1, but also many older versions as well) I've been having this issue where if I have BaseParamControl on and ATB, I get really bad slowdown in battles. It's not so much a performance thing (I mean this desktop can play MH: World), but where the time spent between menu choices is very slow and low FPS. If I disable either of these (meaning either one can be on), I get perfect performance in battle, and I always have perfect performance outside of battle regardless too.

I did some searching and a thread mentioned that if the difference between the enemy's AGI and the player's AGI was too great, then it could cause some slow down like this, so I made my enemy's AGI match my characters but it didn't help. I am not using Tick Based Regen, and I have battle speed set to 10, and have even turned off Battle Animation Speed Option to see if that was causing issues, and none of it really fixes the problem.

While it could be some random other plugin causing this (I've tried turning on/off just about everything else), it seems the problem is with a combination of these two plugins. I'm not very good at math and formulas, but I thought maybe there was some sort of algorithm going on here with the AGI values and formulas causing this "slow" battle speed, so I increased everyone's AGI from ~30 to like 200 and saw no difference other than faster ATB fills.

ATB is very important for the games I want to make, so if necessary I can live without Base Parameter Control, but I would like to be able to use it and have more control over the balancing and database design of my games. Does anyone else have this issue or perhaps can help me with it?

I am using the all the latest plugins and kept everything uptodate.

EDIT: Actually, I found the problem and solution. This post addressed my problem, I didn't realize it somehow got reset back to default settings from what I had set a long time ago, so I tweaked them back down to smaller values and it fixed the problem. Please delete/close this thread.
