[XP] problem with common event for running

i have been searching for quite a while now for a solution to make the player able to run in RMXP. and so far i have found a couple of solutions, but apparently non of them Works for me (i think i might be doing it wrong, but i cna't find the error since everything looks as it is supposed to). i have been trying to fix the problem myself but so far the only thing i have made it do is changing the speed of the charater to 5 in the 6 first maps and the 7th, the character will walk pretty slow (Down to 3 or 4) and then i am able to run, this is pretty much my last resort i have no idea what else i can do now :p
