It doesn't like RMVX/Ace that you usually use. In RMXP, there is no automatic layering like RMVX/Ace
First layer used as the ground.
Second layer used as the ground ornaments.
Third layer used as the doodads
The example case
First layer used for the wall
You want to put a cupboard, then use the second layer
You want to put a vase on the cupboard, then use the third layer -
Ho I understand! this seem simple but in some way this complexe D: this took all me effort for make a simple house xD thanks for your answer!

And yet, that's the feature that I miss. If I have that in Ace, I'd be really happy. It makes life so much easier

I think it's a case of what you're used to, more than anything else.

Cest peut etre compliqué au début, mais des que tu va etre habitué, tu va voir que cest 5x plus simple et amusant de faire des maps dans rmxp.
(It might seem complicated at first, but once youre used to it youll see that its alot easier and fun to make maps in rmxp.) -
Yeah, basically the three layers just have priority over the lower layers, so keep layer 1 for full 32x32 tiles (which are usually ground and walls), and use layer 2 and 3 for everything else. You've probably already seen what happens when you put an object on layer 1 (with the white space and all that). There's no real rhyme or reason between what you put on layers 2 and 3, just throw things onto layer 2 and then use layer 3 to put an object over that object. I'm sure it seems strange if you're used to Ace, but once you get used to it, it is just incredible.

Also you can put priority to tiles in tileset section of database. THis will allow, for example, tree branches to be above character's head and such

Also one other factor is event layer. so basically three layes plus the event layer you can make mapping a whole lot of fun but can be challenging to do if your doing a big map.
