Why do floor tiles act weirdly around roof tiles in MV?

  1. Here's a screenshot for my example:

    I've been looking at examples from Pop Horror City which I assume are all from RPG Maker VX Ace and the building tiles usually don't look like that in my screenshot which is weird. Do I have to fix any tileset settings for this or is it just a problem with MV?
  2. no, the problem is that you never heard of shift-click-mapping, because that is how you need to map with autotiles (no matter if its walls and roofs or other tiles)

    Please follow the link to the starting point in my signature, one of the tutorials linked there explains the options of shift-click mapping for VX Ace.
    For MV it's similiar but not entirely identical, but I don't know of a specific MV-Tutorial about it.
