Why did support deactivate old activation keys?

    Why did support deactivate old activation keys? My RPG Maker XP licence was purchased in 2008 and the activation key no longer works. I had this same problem with VX(original) last winter. I was given a new key for VX. I just sent support an email about my XP licence. This problem is annoying. I do not understand why any software company would deactivate product keys.

    they updated the system in which the keys were verified.

    nothing was DE-ACTIVATED intentionally. the software was changed, and it's an unfortunate side-effect of the updated security.

    i'm sure that if you email your details to a member of the official staff team, they could help you out.

    That is because the old company that handles RPG Maker XP, VX and IGM was Protexis. It was passed on to Degica :)

    So there's a new DRM and all that stuff.
