Why can I walk over imported tilesets?

  1. I've googled this and I still can't seem to figure this out.

Normal tiles work perfectly fine. Walls, beds, houses, and everything else impassable is, well... impassable.

Imported files, however, are not working correctly. I'll add them to the database and even get them showing up in game, but that's it. They're just there to look pretty. I can walk right over imported trees and walls as though they're painted onto the ground.
  2. Did you edit the Passage settings for the Tiles?

I know all Tiles from B-E need to have a star for the Passage setting of the upper-left most tile.

Besides that, any tile marked with an X is not passable, and an O is passable.  To change the setting, left-click on the tile.

This setting is on the "TIlesets" tab of the database (press F9 for it).
  3. Go into database and then to your tileset tab.

Wherever these imported tiles maybe, ensure it is set to X for impassible.

O is for passable and Star is for under.

Oh looks like the guy above me beat me to it.
  4. Thank you, that fixed it. I was getting so annoyed trying to figure out how to do this. xD
  5. I do have another question if anyone can help me.

Some of the tile sets I've found have purple, gray, etc backgrounds. When I add the tiles to the game, the purple background is added as well.

Is there some trick to using tile sets like these?
  6. When importing the tileset, RPG Maker normally lets you left-click on the Transparent and Translucent colors.  If you click on the Purple during import, it becomes the transparent one.

Not true. Only the B tile needs the star in the top left corner.

What tilesets are you using? I don't use tilesets that have background colours - if I did, I'd open them in Paint.NET or GIMP or Photoshop and remove the background and save it as a png.
