Why aren't my character names working?

Warning: Complete newbie here. Watched tons of tutorials, trying it out for myself finally.

I'm trying to rename the preset characters just so I can make a mock up of my idea but the names will not stick. Like, for instance, I wanna change Daniel's name to Davie but the message box keeps listing him as "Daniel" or, if I use an empty script like the screenshots show and import in the expressions, it shows up as "Unnamed." I've looked up videos and changing it in the collections should be working according to them, unless something's changed recently that Youtube videos aren't telling me.

I've been at this for two hours and am about to just flip my entire computer over. Someone else me please before I run out of hair to rip out of my head.

first of all, my apologies for the late reply.

I reproduced your issue, that is a weird behavior, I will investigate that further and fix it with a future update. For now, you can fix it yourself, there are two ways:

Go into Language Configuration View, select Database > Characters and select the character, then double click the row with the characters name and change the "Translation" to the new name of the characters.

Another way is to right click the Default Language Profile and select "Refresh Texts" from the context menu.
