  1. Which do you prefer games on steam, or not? I like RPG Maker VX Ace way better on steam (no idea why) maybe I just enjoy clicking on the steam and seeing how long I've used it for. Also you can share your games through Steam so more people can play them (haven't made it to that stage yet though.) I also play other games on Steam, better then going to the desktop, documents and forgetting where it is you just click the task bar and bang! It's done. I always look for games on steam first before getting them on the website. So which do you prefer? Steam or Non-Steam? That is the question....

  2. I prefer Steam. At least with Steam, my antivirus program doesn't go nuts and disable my downloads.
  3. I prefer not Steam as Steam makes it a little slower to load up or find games.
  4. I prefer Steam, except when the internet is down and it breaks, crashes, then I need to reboot. XD Without Steam it doesn't usually do that then I can't work on TSOR :( Cause I have like five rpg makers, always losing them and made 5 shortcuts so Steam just brings me to my game easy, as you said.
  5. I prefer Steam especially when said games have incorporated the Steam cloud so my saves are everywhere I am.
  6. I don't really have a preference...I tend to get more games on Steam but that's because of their sales.  I still have plenty of non-steam games on my HD, just as easy to find for me cause they're all in the "Games" folder then alphabetical.  I've not had any bad issues with Steam, so it's really just a tie for me and price usually wins out.
  7. i like steam the best.
  8. Been with Steam for nine years. So, I'd say I much prefer Steam. ;)
  9. Not Steam, to support the developers.
  10. I'm very pedantic with my software and games. I like having them all in one place so I tend to prefer steam. I also use it to launch non-steam programs. It helps my friends know when to leave me alone or what I'm working on (generally if they see i'm using rpgmaker or a drawing program they will let me be, but if i'm using something like cakewalk or playing a game then they know to chat with me)

I love the fact that I can see how many hours of my life I've wasted in certain games and programs too. That's the cherry on top with sprinkles for me.
  11. I don't really like Steam that much, but sales are frequent.. I only have 2 games on steam right now though, Ys Origin and DotA 2.

Anyway, as for which is better. I cannot really say, my fave games aren't on steam but lots of games that I want to play have both non-steam and steam versions.
  12. I like games on Steam because it's easy for me to find them when I switch between PCs, and Steam acts as a passive backup for the game data and saves.
