where to find cartoony resources?

basically I want all the tilesets, events, characters into cartoony feel.

By cartoony do you mean something that looks hand drawn? I can think of a few games that have that look but I don't know of any resources.

It might be worth considering starting a thread in the Classifieds if you're willing to pay, but I should warn you that it gets expensive the more you want to replace with original graphics. For an entire RTP replacement it will be well into the thousands even though it is a simpler graphic style. You could also try to recruit an artist for your project if you're willing to give them some say in the development process and have enough to offer to attract someone.


In the mean time hopefully someone else knows of some good cartoony tiles that are available for free. My knowledge of what's available is pretty limited.

Someone redrew the RTP into a very 'cartoony' (i.e. a couple of colours only) version. His name was KRokon. You can find it here.

sharm really? thousands of bucks for an entire rtp replacement? i was expecting it to be $50... lol Thanks celianna i'll check it out.

Not sure how familiar you are with the amount of work that goes into creating a full replacement for the RTP, but it does literally take over a year to produce something like that. If the artist is just making this tileset for you, then, yea, they will expect thousands. :)

We're lucky in that we have a few artists working on resource packs for the store, and even luckier that they charge so little for their hard work.

Thousands of dollars sounds like a lot, but if it literally does take years, and the artist is pretty much working full time on just your tileset, it's actually not that much on a per hour basis.  

It's why I like the Resource Packs they sell --- far less expensive for a good variety of stuff.
