I was just curious where people met the people they are working with.
I'll begin by saying I was part of a two-man studio; me and a friend of mine from high school who, despite having moved far away, remained a close friend. I'd been working with rpgmaker for a while and we'd bounced ideas back and forth a lot, so I eventually asked him if he'd be interested in participating and suggested that maybe he'd be good at mapping; which he really was (and started out really entheusiastically) but in the end he didn't share my drive for making games(I see this story a lot on these boards), so I am again looking for a couple of like-minded individuals to work with.
What are some other peoples' stories?
Where did you meet your team?

Weeeeeeeeeeeell... Lessee here...
MY "Studio" (SciNet Evolved Engineering) is made up of two people, myself and my wife. Met her in High School (first semester, my senior/her junior year) in "Computer Engineering and Technology (CET)." Ended up being lab partners with her, found out we share love of games.
After I graduated, I jumped country for a while, and when I was overseas, started playing around with Game Maker. Anyway, I come back, we start dating, we get married, and we both started college for game dev. I started using VX Ace last year around this same time, mostly just to goof off, kill some time, that sort of thing. We go on like that for a while, and then my buddy Fluffy starts up HIS "Studio" (N.A.C.A. Games). We started colabing on pretty much every major project we had due this past year in school, and so yeah.
NOW we all three are using VX Ace (and XP, they snagged the Humble Bundle Sale-as did I), although Fluffy still pretty much sticks with MultiMedia Fusion 2. He's actually developing an app for Android to sell. Pretty cool, really.
SO, most things we end up doing, since he loves his studio name, and I'm pretty much deadset on mine, end up being "SciNet Evolved Engineering, in Association With N.A.C.A. Games, PRESENTS:" (or viceversa).
I'm good at mapping, eventing, and story, my wife is good at art and story, and Fluff is good at programming and story. 'Twixt the thrain of us, we do pretty alright.
Psyched about getting to teach my wife the basics of VX Ace, actually. Will be giving the BOTH of them a crash-course in Eventing come tomorrow-hook my laptop into the TV, and BAM!
Sorry if that's a bit long-winded, and rambling. I tend to do that. -
Ahh Xenos, you're living the dream buddy. :D

I lucked out, man. I really did. My wife is ALMOST as big a game geek as I am (her forte is Anime/Manga/ANYTHING Japan, to be honest). You know you've a keeper when you're on your honeymoon, and rather'n buy beach merch, she's like "Hey, we don't have a Sega Saturn yet, they've got one for sale! Let's get that!"Ahh Xenos, you're living the dream buddy. :D
PLUS, my buddy Fluffy is just the most gifted coder I've ever met. I mean, dude UNDERSTANDS it, like it's a native SPOKEN language to him. It's wild.
AND we're working on bringing in my wife's bestie to the conglomerate-since thanks to the Humble Bundle Sale, we've an extra steam key! (I have the boxed software, so I gave my steam key from the sale to my wife, then when SHE got the sale, she's got the extra key!)
This is a very, VERY exciting time for us, on top of the whole competition thing! -
I'm a one-man dev team that started...... rom hacking. <_>
It's not something I'm proud of, but those days are far behind me. I came to the stark realization that no matter how hard I worked and no matter how many flashy custom resources someone (or myself) put out... at the end of the day, it was still a MOD of another game.... so I realized that I can DO something with that I've learned and make something of myself.
Someone dared me to "actually do it" and so, here I am! I also wanted to showcase work from DLSea Studios (Music and VO) at a place, so I sarted Iron Croc Enterprise. Hopefully if I win the contest I'll be on the map! :D -
You're a force of personality, Croc, people are gonna take notice either way. :)
