What you need to sell art? (Germany)

I ask for a friend:

What do you need to sell art in a forum like this, when you are living in germany?

Like is the "Gewerbeschein" i heard of from a quick google search realy enough? I also read it costs 30€, is that one time/monthly/yearly.

And does anybody know if it's correct that it's realy tax free if you make less than 17000€ a year.

I'm not sure, but I think you don't need a Gewerbeschein at all. After all, what you mean are probably commissions.
(Btw. I think that's the wrong forum for that kind of question, unless you want to sell a game. An art based forum would be better to ask. Or someone who does commissions.)

I think all most people do is create a thread here (Classifieds - Offers) stating what they do, providing samples, and an indication of their rates and payment method (I think the majority here use Paypal).


I don't know if different countries have different rules.


We cannot advise you on taxes. Your friend will have to see a tax accountant to find out what's right and what's not. It MAY be the case that that much is tax-free (it's $18,000 in Australia), but that doesn't mean you don't have to declare it as income.
