  1. What was your first RPG game? Mine was called: Apple Jukie's Adventure. Apple Jukie was the name of my character in a game I played and I made, got the name from Apple Juice XD It was on VX when I started out rpg maker I was about 5-6 or 7, my sister helped me around, mapping and stuff. I can't really remember the plot all I remember is that her sister got kidnapped and she had to fill the jar with apple juice, (every dungeon) to save her. Really strange child I was...But my first on XP was something I can't remember. It was just the same map, over, and over, and over. Like 150 maps worth XD So what was your first game?

And my first video game thingy was The Legend of Zelda.
  2. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. And it is still one of my absolute favorites.
  3. Do you mean the first RPG game you played, or the first RPG game you made?

The first one I played was Final Fantasy IV (then called Final Fantasy II on the SNES).

The first one I made, that was an actual complete game, was my IGMC submission (Phased Out I think I called it).  The game had a hard time limit of 1 hour and was fairly well balanced, but didn't have great maps and the gameplay, end to end, was around 15 minutes long.  It was a futuristic "Save the world but quickly" game.
  4. My first game didn't have a name !

But i do remember what it was, it was about Jack who had to go on his first adventure,he then finds a strange man that sends him into the desert.. he then meets a wizard, and fights a boss blah blah it was really bad (The mapping was really weird and the boss you have to talk to him to fight him you can easily pass him and reach the new town without fighting him) in the end he beats that man and restores peace..which was always there..
  5. Phantasy Star III on Megadrive :)
  6. Final Fantasy I on the NES.
  7. Might and Magic I, on the PC. I was young and had no idea what I was doing in that game, but do remember feeing excited when I finally got those characters up to level 9. Too bad I had no idea what I was supposed to be doing in that game.
  8. Secret of Mana, when I was around six years old or so. To the best of my recollection, it's what spurred my love of RPGs (and RPG making).
  9. First action/ "rpg" : The Legend of Zelda on Nes, I was 8 or 9 something like that (hey, at the time it was pretty common to include this into the "rpg" style).

First action rpg : Secret of Mana.

First turn by turn rpg : Breath of fire 2

@bgillisp : I'm sorry but my daughter did beat you. She's 3 year old and she already did some moves on World of Xeen , she's crazy about this game she always asks me to play it..and so sometimes she insists to kick the wall to see the game over's cheesy laugh. XD
  10. Dragon Quest (Warrior) on the NES.
  11. It turns out that I forgot what RPG game I played first time, I was 3 or 4 or 5 when I play NES, I can't remember exactly what RPG game I was played, do I even know if it's a RPG ? I don't think so. I just remember some game like Ninja Turtle, Double Dragon 2, Double Dragon 3, Adventure Island(this is hard), The Lost World, Aladin, and you can't miss a game like Contra can you? The stage 1 game theme is epic. but I can't remember about any RPG game, how about Resident Evil 1?.

For PS 1 I think it was Grandia my first time, the best RPG game with best battle system, and best skill growth system in my opinion, and I can only finish that game after I was 16 years old while I finished all FF series around 14 - 15 years old because it's weaks battle system and gameplay, sorry no offense for FF fans, but it's fact even Valkyrie Profile have much strong battle system than FF. All of course is in my opinion.
  12. I'm not sure, but I remember playing Secret of Mana, Secret of Evermore, Super Metroid and Mystic Quest as a kid, and loving them. Played them together with my mom, haha.
  13. Made or played? It also depends on the definition of RPG too.

Harry Potter 1 (PC) and Final Fantasy 12 (PS2).
  14. My first RPG was Pokémon Yellow when I was 12. The overhead view and being able to explore towns and talk to NPCs blew my mind as someone who had mostly only been playing 2D platformers up until then.

My second RPG was Buck Rogers; Countdown to Doomsday, some obscure title for Sega Genesis/Megadrive. It was really slow and had bad graphics, but I was so into it, lol.
  15. First paper & pencil RPG was D&D back in 1977.

First video game RPG I played was Temple of Apshai back in 1980.
  16. The first RPG I ever played was Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain. That was back in 1996-1997, I think. I've loved every Legacy of Kain game ever since; apart from that online FPS game which uses the LoK world.

The first RPG I ever made was using RPG Maker 2003. I don't remember much of it, but you started the game on a ship in which there was a chest containing infinite potions. There was an old man in the first town who kept telling you how old he was, and the first battle was against a samurai, who upon defeat, turned into a pile of gold and his sprite moved to the corner of the screen. It was very bad.

Don't feel too bad, the first RPG I made I was 12 at the time. All I remember was it had two alternate worlds you could travel to, and the final fight was against a dragon. The rest of it was just random castles/dungeons/towns wherever I felt like putting them. So, yes, it was randomly thrown together stuff + a final fight with a dragon. Epic, right? Well, my 12 year old mind thought so at least.

Though you know, your game could be made into something, just have the guy wake up and learn it was a strange dream afterwards.
  18. Whoa. How old ARE you?

To answer your question, my first RPG was "Princess of Peril".   First time EVER. Ever touching the engine, first time doing ANYTHING. No help No assistance. No NOTHIN'. Just a written tutorial on mapping and all these warnings of "BEWARE! X person and Y person will TEAR YOU APART."

I was like "...So? :p"  I survived and even laughed at them. They were funny.

My first video game I ever played was Super Mario Bros for the NES. <3
  19. Breath of Fire III
  20. See, the answer to this question is 'LoZ: A Link to the Past' but for some reason I have 'Agarest War' burned into my mind as the first RPG I've played.

    *cough*

    Spoiler
    *cough*

(k I just feel urged not to say it's Agarest War)
