  1. I hear this awesome sound effect in alot of films and games most notionally Golden eye or perfect dark but I never found out what the sound is called? It sounds like some sort of pipe and it's VERY effective for futuristic/spy facility lab etc settings.

I wonder if anyone here knows what it is called?
  2. I don't have high-end speakers, but I hear following:
    - Triangle
    Spoiler
    stan_head_1.jpg
    - Violin section
    - Synth Bass
    - Electric Bass (not sure but it might be Ampeg AUB-1 Bass)
    - Synth strings and sound pads
    - Some accents with Arpeggios.

I would say it New Age music
  3. Hmm I'm looking at the sound that is emitted immediately at 0:34. But you certainly seem to know instruments very well.
  4. Seems like a 80's synth marimba;
Bass Marimba but with synth and good filter it might be close
Maybe play with the reverb also a wee bit it might metalize it.

    Else it is almost celestial

You might have a bit of it im Anime also but I definately would think it would be around my 80's Sholby Yamaha

Some instruments kinda sounded on the same pitch in the 80's like the beginning of Top Gun's Danger Zone song.
  5. I think he is referencing the ghostly sound at 34 secs.

Maybe it could be created using a distorted gong synth.

I have made a lot of custom sound effects for my current project. My ear tells me: if you took a recorded drop of water and stretched it out, it would sound similar.
  6. Interesting, it's probably made different from every source out there but i'm absolutely certain it's some kind of sound effect that's out there and has been popularized by these spy movies and games etc.
  7. Yeah it could be even a cobbler hammer over a bass string in some distortion filter. (there are a lot of them in the whole tune)
