So recently I've seen this tool for making graphic resources... or rather, modifying graphic resources? Though it's look cool, I wonder if it's really useful. I mean with such a price of 30$, I feel it's kinda expensive. I already have photoshop and illustrator so it seems this one isn't needed for me.
Still, I may consider grabbing it when it's price comes down. What do you guys think of this tool?
What do you think of Sakan?

This tool is way overpriced. The assets inside are pretty much default ones and the capabilities of this tool are no greater than of any paint tool.

I was disappointed with it - fell far short of my expectations. It has potential though, and I'll check it out again after it gets some major updates.
If you have photoshop and you are comfortable using it, stick with that. -
You're already paying Adobe the subscription fee to use their software which isn't exactly cheap for many indie devs so unless Sakan adds something unique and amazing to the mix (which I have read it does not currently as of this posting), I would just stick with the current toolset you are using.
I think Sakan's target audience currently is for those who do not have access to a decent quality image editing tool. -
Personally I like it, as a time & labor saver for when I am creating tilesets. Which was helpful to some extent because my current project tilesets are all DLC & RTP amalgamations, with some alterations, editing, & recolors.
However, there really isn't anything that the program does, that I wasn't already doing with GIMP, albeit more expediently. So I would recommend getting it on sale if you decide to get it.
Probably the best comparison I can think of, of how I've ended up using it, is to compare it to using the character generator to build NPCs, versus constructing NPCs from parts like the sheets that Pioneer Valley Games in their Medieval graphics packs, & making with a program like GIMP. Both will allow you to build NPCs, but one is considerably more efficient than the other.
If you create enough tilesets, the time & labor savings add up, if you only create one or two, it won't make much difference to your project's development. -
Overpriced. For what it does, it should have half the price. Honestly, it's competing with free programs that do exact same stuff and much more so 27,99$ is ludicrously over priced. Maybe if it was 7,99$ I'd be more forgiving but that's way too much for such limited functionality.
