Weird Problem with RPG Maker MV

  1. So after a few months of not messing with my game, I decided to start it up again. Weird thing is, the changes I'm making don't seem to be changing in game. This intro keeps playing that I wanted to get rid of, but no matter what I do it's still there, and the player keeps being placed at an old starting point.

I've changed a lot - destroyed the maps from the intro, moved the starting point different places, but none of the changes show ingame, EXCEPT for changing the screen size. I just can't figure it out. It's like nothing is working even though it should be, I don't see how it's not saving and reflecting the changes? Since the original maps are gone, I can't see how an event would be the problem. I'm frustrated and so confused. Any advice?
  2. Are you loading an old save game? If so the event was saved with the game, and will still run. You need to hit new game to avoid that.

Otherwise you may wish to check your starting position or your plug-ins. A skip title plug-in could cause weird things to happen if you forget about it.
  3. It's a new save, and I've checked my plug ins and none of them seem possibly related - it's things like inventory edits, shadows, etc. I also decided to try and edit the map, I placed an item down, played the game and went through the intro, and went to that room. Still no change. So it's not just the intro, it's like nothing I do in the game maker reflects in the played game.
  4. You'll have to post screenshots of one of the events then. And post all pages of the event, as events go in the order highest page to lowest page, so if you set up a bad page 2 page 1 will never run.
  5. I found it! I decided turning off the plugins was worth a shot, and that did it. I went through to find the problem - it was a Data Compressing plugin??? I have no idea how or why that could have done it - those assets didn't even exist anymore but it was still using them. So weird. So I just deleted that one. Thanks for the help!
  6. Probably the code was keeping it in the old system or something. Or it was for an older version of MV which causes really weird stuff to happen.
