To start off I'm trying to use these battler sprites with battle symphony:

My character is sunk to the ground whenever I use them

You can't see him but he's really underground :(
How can I fix this? Is there a better sideview battle system script I can use? Is this happening because the battler sprite file I linked comes in many parts?

Well what system are you using? How are you sure the character is under? Are you sure you did put the system in right, or the characters rows and frames are set up right? (Frames are across while rows go down the character sheet.)

I've moved this thread to RGSSx Script Support. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.
No, I can't see him. How do you know he's really there? Can you attach the battler image you're using? -

This is it right for the sprite
I should add that I'm completely new to RPG Maker in general. I'm using yami's battle symphony system
He is there because when he attacks you can see him move then he goes back under afterwards -
Then explain what you mean by "sunk to the ground". It's a 2D scene. There is no ground that he can go behind. Do you mean the battler is off the bottom of the screen?
Maybe if you can get a screenshot where he's partly showing, or a video that shows what's happening (if you do that, please JUST include the actual animation so we can see what's going on ... the number of times people make a video of 10 minutes with 9.5 of it being unnecessary gameplay leading up to the actual issue, and expect people to watch it all ...) -
Yeah he's sunk off the screen

Looks to me... like you did not set him up right.
First off did you put him in the right folder, for example Battlers folder? Are you sure you set up the correct frames and rows, find out which is which in my older post. -
I'm very new to RPG Maker
I'm not even sure if I did everything right -
Yes... so..... you don't get rows and frames?
Okay I'll explain in more detail
Frames are across... on the sheet of the battler you are trying to get in. From right to left, that is how you read it.
Rows are the ones that go down the sheet of the battler you are trying to get in. From up to down that is how you read it
Each character you see in each section of the battler is counted as one for each category of Frame and row.
I can get some kind of visual example up if you still do not get what I am saying.
As for directory, go into your graphics folder and go to battlers. I use victors animated battle, so I am not sure if you do have to add a [anim] tag to the end of the name of the battler. Try without the tag first, then try the tag if it does not work. -
Could I get a link to Victor's animated battlers?
Also this is how the character I have is supposed to behave and look in battles
What's bugging me is that I might not be using the right system -
Well Victors is not a cake walk either... but if you are willing to learn through some video tutorials by Passivelion go for it. You will need several scripts for Victors to work.
Heres the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9X602VhC8g (Look at the description for the script and Passivelions tutorial) Got any questions ask me I can help.
I made a quick example for Frames and Rows using Holders battler.
As I said.. I have Victors in and I know how it is supposed to look. Another note... no it does not matter what system you use, you can get the same effects above with the right resources and set up. That video has special animations from the same site you got the battler, plus the blue cut in comes from somewhere else, look up Kadukis battlers.SpoilerIt serves it's purpose... but man I do not know how to make a straight line in Paint...

Here's my own battle system in action using victors scripts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zdamZztKyB0 -
well I'm using Battle Symphony script and Holder's Battlers Add-on it says I have to add all my sprite files for both battlers and town characters into the Graphics/Characters folder as explained in this guide:
http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/19884-a-guide-to-yamis-battle-symphony/
Maybe it's not working because the battler sprites aren't a single sheet but rather a multiple spritesheets? -
Partially due to them being several sheets... you would have to photoshop them together.
Boy there's alot to take in... and it is very different compared to how Victors works. I suggest getting victors, because it is simpler(in my opinion). When you get the basics down of the system you can do almost anything with victors.
I'll read into this more if you want me to, but I literally have to learn the system to help you. -
Can we go for Victor's then? I don't know how to photoshop the sprite sheets together ;_;
-
Sure we can... I could Photo Shop them together for you.
-
That would help a lot, this is killing me
-
Sent you a PM.

For custom style and easy use battle system i advise you to use journey battle system this allow any kind custom of batler
