I'm using SumRndmDde's Skill Extender plugin to categorise magic skills (so after selecting the Magic command, the player can choose what type of magic to use such as fire magic, ice magic, etc.)
The problem is that I've had to set the skill types to None to prevent the skills from appearing twice: once in the Magic menu and twice in the extended menu. Because of this, after selecting the magic skill, the sprite doesn't go into the chanting side view animation. I was planning to use Yanfly's Action Sequence and thought the setup refers to the time before all actors have their actions chosen so I went ahead and tried it but it doesn't seem to allow you to force the ready/chant animation.
I was wondering if there's a way to somehow force this chanting animation after selecting the skill even if the skill type is not Magic.

This is late but here goes.
go to Database then System then in upper right corner under [SV] Magic Skills just add all skill types you want to have the animation. -

What about using Yanfly's action sequences to make specific skill have the chant animation? That is if I want only selected skill within the skill type to have magic chanting animation.

Yanfly action sequences are only executed when the skill is actually used, so that wouldn't work. Anyway this thread is like a year old, so I'm pretty sure the OP has what he/she needs by now~
