Walking on unwalkable tiles

  1. So, I have been having problems with the auto tiles. I can walk on them when they're on layer 2 but not layer 3. For mapping purposes the auto-tiles need to stay on layer 2, and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong as the tiles are set to an "X" so they shouldn't be walkable...

    All help accepted

    Thanks
  2. Do you have through on by any chance?
  3. If you're walking through tiles that are marked as X, there can be two problems:

    - Your passage setting in your TIleB, the upper left corner, is not set to a star. Set it to a star and your problems will go away.

    - You have 'through' set on for your character. Turn this off.
  4. @OP:

just to clarify: are you talking about RMXP or RMVA?

This forum is for XP, and the "layer 3" in your original post also indicates XP, but your profile says that you're primarily using Ace, and the answers you got so far are also pointing to problems with Ace, not with XP.
  5. I'm not sure quite what you mean by setting something to a star, but the 'through' is definitely not on.

Yes, this is for XP sorry for not indicating in my question.
  6. There's a chance you've used a 'through' tile to erase on layer 3, instead of the top left tile which is the 'erase' tile. That means you'll be able to walk on anything on layers 1 and 2, and anywhere on layer 3 where you haven't put an impassable tile.

Is it JUST autotiles that are doing this, or all tiles on layer 2? What if your autotiles are on layer 1 instead?
  7. Autotiles on Layer 1 worked thank you
  8. So has it solved your problem, or do you still need them on layer 2?
