  1. Hello everyone!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

I was hoping that someone might be able to help me with some VX tiles in my game.  I was wanting tiles

to make it look as though the characters are inside a hornet's nest.

    Spoiler

I'm not quite sure how to approach it, so I don't mind how the artist views makes it look best.  But, I thought

maybe it would have two wall styles (the larva wall with holes filled with eggs, larva, and some empty), and

the papery wall where no larva holes are.  Maybe, there could also be some sort of transition?

As for the floor, perhaps whatever looks best with the wall tiles.

Thanks so much for your time!  I really appreciate it!  ^_^
  2. Didn't they do that in Donkey Kong Country?
  3. I had to look it up.  I've never really played Donkey Kong before, so I thought

at first you meant like a fan game based after the old ones. :guffaw:

    Spoiler
screenshot100j.pngI don't believe hornets make honey, but I think the basic form of bee hives,

wasp hives, and hornet hives are still very similar.  ^_^
  4. Since the cells are not going to tile well, maybe a wall tile with that dotted background would work with an evented overlay of the hexagons in various combos?
  5. That might work!  ♥

I was worried the walls might be difficult.  I was having a hard time

imagining how they would be as an autotile. Similar to as you said,

I wonder if a parallax tile of the cells could be placed over a simple

wall autotile to make a similar effect?  :)
  6. Okay, with help from google images searching for a "hexagon grid texture sealess" and some scaling and testing and editing until I wanted to eat some serious chocolate, I was able to get you a base for the walls.

PLease do credit GrandmaDeb if you use this honeycomb base.

We will not discuss how many previous versions did not tile properly, now, will we?
  7. Thank you so much, GrandmaDeb!  I'm sorry for the late reply.  I forgot to check back.

I'm trying to play with it in my game maker to see how it works.  ^^
  8. Sounds interessting, I wanna give it a try.

    Edit:

    k, making fun

    I hope, you like it.

Wall, ground and some tiles for holes, larves and honey.

  9. Awesome job, as normal, PandaMaru!
  10. Booya! is that for free use in any non-commercial project? I would have a purpose for this.
  11. Yes, free for use. :) And thank you.

Edit: :guffaw: I have so much fun with the tiles, I must do more of this.

    Still working on more.
  12. I just found this by accident. So, do you show us materials you did for a specific person in your own topic? :) Otherwise I could just go through all of your posts, of course, but I guess it's more convenient for me and also nice for yourself if you put them into your own topic. You did some things for me, too, and I wouldn't mind at all if you decided to release them publicly. :)
  13. If it's no recolor or edit of sprites from other autors and not to specific, I post it in my own thread. In this case, it's for the topic and I'm still working on more tiles, so I will post the hole thing at the end in my thread. I think, you don't miss something, if you dosen't look at evrey post I made.
  14. It's fun to have seen this develop!

Pineda has a character in his 2010 set which may be of interest with these tiles.

    :) My hive grows fast.

    @deb

    Ohw, she's so cute!
  16. Maru t o the rescew! :3
  17. I was trying to find a tile I have somewhere of a long (maybe almost 60-64 pixels) tile with a slender stem hanging from the ceiling and a ball at the end - it reminded me of how a long drop of honey would look dripping from the ceiling... but I cannot find it.

    Also, these tiles from FSM

aren't compatible but they are the right kind of thing to go in a large hive, I think. Not stalactites and stalagmites, of course, but something like that.

    Just some ideas. =]
  18. PandaMaru, GrandmaDeb, THANK YOU both so much!  You are sooo kind!!!  The tiles
are beautiful!  The detail is amazing!  (even the little larva are in the cells ♥)
♫ And those sprites are perfect! ♫

Edit: Oh, and Cartridge reminded me of something with his post.  Is it okay if I use this possibly in a commercial game?
Right now I'm not sure which way may game will go.
  19. It's need a lot more of work, but I'm on it.

Commercial only if I will give my ok personaly (and maybe a free version of the game the end for me :3), so for you, ok. But others must contact me first.
  20. Don't do that to me! If you continue, I have to include that in my game, you know?! :D
