Video Subtitles?

Hello everyone!

I am quite the beginner, and I am sure there is an incredibly easy solution, but I can't seem to be able to figure it out (or find it here in the forum).
I am trying to show subtitles (as scrolling text) while playing a video, but I don't know how to do that at the same time. I only managed to start the text before the video starts playing... Can anybody please help me, that would be so nice!
Also, I guess I might need a plugin, but which one? :S

That isn't very easy to do.
I would add subtitles inside the video instead, using editing software.
Otherwise you will probably need a plugin to do that.

(Phew, I'm kind of relieved and don't feel so stupid then...)
Well, the video is quite small (not filling the whole screen), but I want the subtitles to be easily readable, of course. And I've looked at a few plugins already (well, searched for hours), but from the descriptions I couldn't find any that do that...

Let's see if someone has a solution or a suggestion, cause I can't help you further. Let's be patient. :)

Just if someone finds this thread and wonders how I solved it - I used Galv's timed message pop-up plugin :) It's not scrolling text, but it works very well for this purpose.
