  1. I still have not found a way to properly record gameplay from screen record software. I have used fraps which causes a horrible screen blinking effect and google the topic just leads to more questions and no answers. Now I have seen RPG maker games with fullscreen videos and yet no topic on how this is done. Or did I just miss this?

    Thank you for any help.
  2. I use a licensed version of Bandicam. I too tried FRAPS and didn't get along with it.
  3. Bandicam is good. The free version of Bandicam could record up to 10 minutes
  4. I also use the free version of Bandicam and I don't mind that Bandicam watermark nor 10 minutes limit much. I recorded the below gameplay videos before using that and you can judge their qualities yourself:

None of their original resolutions is full screen but for me it's still clear enough to show what I need or want to show if they're watched in fullscreen mode :)
  5. I'll throw in another one for Bandicam. :)
  6. I use screencast-o-matic

for regular screen captures (tutorials, mostly) and am very happy with it, but idk how it does in gameplay captures.
  7. I got Bandicam and am trying to use it with mixed results now. Can any of you tell me how you used it to do your videos? Like what window you captured to record or just you basic use of it? I am getting some all black screens, and then some flickering screens.
  8. Hypercam 2 seems to work pretty well, and It's free, so perhaps try that out.
  9. I personally bought Bandicam. :)
  10. I want to thank you all for the great support I got with this problem. Bandicam just took some getting used to, it seems to have much better features then fraps, or at least the free version does. Anyways we have managed to make our gameplay video now and the quality is much better.

I really think this topic will help many people as I said before I had trouble finding the answer on the internet.
  11. If you don't mind a little bit tweaking with settings, there's actually a much better, high quality free software you can use for screen recording such as OBS - https://obsproject.com/

For those who are accustomed to do livestreaming, some are probably have used this software to do their streaming on twitch/livestream. It can do screen recording too, and in my opinion is better than most of the paid software, since the limit of how good quality you get only depend on your hardware and settings you use.

Here's  a short video tutorial on how to use it: _https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyDbzYIab2w

    Hope this helps ;)
  12. I use Camstudio for my videos. It's free and works pretty well, though I had to tweak a LOT of settings to get it to work correctly on my machine. A lot of things cause it to crash for me, so I just don't use those features and it works fine. I'd like something better at some point, though.

Edit: Just installed and played around with OBS -- it's great, but there's no pause button! That's a dealbreaker for me with making tutorials. :( A year ago the maker said he'd implement a pause button, but still hasn't. For simply recording gameplay, it looks great and I may use it for that.
  13. You can use something like VideoDub to crop the 'free bandicam' watermark off the video too, if you're so inclined. The license fee isn't much if you do decide to purchase.
