Hm, i found this Mode-7 plugin and i'm quite impressed with it. I was wondering what people do with this. I was able to make villages/cities more interesting by making the map angles slightly and making housing pop up and small object. Some object have a difficult time popping up without tiling up like a mountain.
I was wondering what other nifty affects could be used with Mode-7; base inspiration or even weird things.

So far, the only use that I have for Mode7 is the airship, but I'm sure that you could use it for billions of other things.

Mode-7 will only suitable for worldmap I guess. To tell that the world is vast

I'd like to use Mode-7 for a Mario Kart or F-ZERO like section of an RPG.
Like, an F-ZERO RPG is something I've considered. Or an F-ZERO inspired original RPG. But it wouldn't be right without some intense, high-speed Mode 7 racing! -
Yeah, easily used for this, and towns pop up (if setup) so it makes it even more obvious where a town/location is. I was hoping to make towns a wee bit more dynamic, there is H-MODE7 but i have no idea how to operate that, and i don't feel like hurdling that as of yet. There is also the Isometric system, which is pretty cool. but i have another game for that.Mode-7 will only suitable for worldmap I guess. To tell that the world is vast
yeah, imagine it being a horse racing mini game; If you win you get prizes. It would most likely be a timed game. You would make your map like track, put a whole bunch of below character events that when touched would increase the timer; (of course the timer is only visual. so you have to know your timers) and if the players make it in time, they get whatever it is you want them to get. Heck, it could be used as an ingame story event. Getout before it explodes on this motorbike!I'd like to use Mode-7 for a Mario Kart or F-ZERO like section of an RPG.

EDIT:
I was thinking for the predictable Camping system. because it is on the world map should use mode-7 on a lower angle and it makes use of the idea i had.

Breath of Fire 3 and 4 each had one dungeon in Mode-7 style. The dungeons were in both cases giant open areas which you had to navigate using directions obtained from NPCs. It was a pretty neat use of Mode 7 style, I think.
