  1. Adding resources through the Resource Manager shouldn't corrupt the game.  That's exactly how you're supposed to add them.

When you last Saved your project, did it complete the save successfully, or did the computer get shut down part-way through the save (power outage, or whatever)?  Or did you have a network glitch during the Save?

When Saving a Steam-enabled project, I think it has to synchronize all of the resources to the Steam servers.  I know when I had projects with that enabled, saves took a minute or so.  I don't know what would happen if the save were interrupted.

If the other posters were right, your project should never have been visible as a ZIP file, even if under the covers, Steam does exactly that to synchronize the project.

I wonder if the synchronization got corrupted somehow.  If it did, I think your game might have been lost. :p

What I would do is back up the local content for your game, then remove the local copy of the game and load it back from the Steam cloud.  Does that do the same thing?  Your projects live under your Documents\RPGVXAce folder.  So:

    1. Shut down RPG VX Ace

    2. Move your project from that folder to a folder NOT under the RPGVXAce folder

    3. Start RPG VX Ace

    4. Use Manage Projects to load the Project from the Steam Cloud

I'm not 100% sure my directions are accurate, since I avoid using the Steam Cloud --- I don't like waiting a minute or more between saves and am worried the synchronization will have problems.
  2. What happened was it was all working fine but the project itself was zipped (steam zipped it not me)

I needed to unzip it to add additional graphics to the custom folder.

Now trying to run the project when its not zipped comes up with the above error.

same here, is there anyway to use the steam client but turn the cloud c<3<3p off? lol

as I have another project where I mess around with maps and stuff but that loads fine (again its zipped?)

    Edit:

Ha I fixed it, I literally kept updating the project like 10 times and it now lets me in, WIZARDRY!

    Phew!

    EditEdit:

NVM its the dam zipped one, AGAIN

You can go into Manage Projects, select the project you want to remove from the Cloud and select "Delete from Cloud".  This DOES NOT delete your local copy, but you'll need to find some other way to manage backups for it.

I do this whenever I create a new Project for the reasons I mentioned previously.
  4. Ahh I see, I might have to do that! Thanks :)

Then you used the wrong method to get your project to steam. When working correctly, you should never see any zip-file from RM.

Please, only use the manage project window to get your project to steam, do NOT try to do this manually.

Do you go into the folder:

    User/"your profil name"/own documents/RPGVXAce/"your project name" ?

Because I think you open the ones that are saved in the steam folder.

But that are the steam cloud versions. The one you edit are in "documents/rpgvxace".

That are the only .zip files I have and will be allways that. (\s/)
