So lately I've been going through a tough time. Things get depressing really fast due to certain factors. Lately I've find something that just lifts my mood whenever I listen to it, so I thought I'd share it. I hope that somebody finds some benefits from this. Also please share the things that lift your own moods, I'd love to see/hear them:

That was an incredible piece. Thanks so much for sharing!
My life is objectively pretty good and I don't have anymore than the average person to worry about, but I can fall into some pretty serious funks regardless. That's the thing with all of these mental issues, they don't discriminate, and they don't always make sense. I find that music is a double-edged sword for me. It can help bring me up out of a slump, or fuel this weird kind of craving for sadness that we get sometimes. Like how when you're down, you find some strange, temporary high in watching sad movies or listening to sad music. It's all very strange.
There is some comfort in knowing that others are struggling along with you, and that you are never truly alone. That's why I felt to share a little bit.
I'll throw this one out there. An instrumental track from my absolute favourite band. They have a lot of amazing music that can cover pretty much every mood and situation for me. This one has a habit of plunging me into deep thought, which can either be uplifting or kind of melancholy, so use it wisely. :) -
@ TheRiotInside: Thanks for the share. I really appreciate it. It is strange how we crave sadness sometimes.

I'm really into that kind of music so here are some of my favourites that evoke some heavy emotions:
This is one of the most soothing songs I've ever heard. It serves as a pick me up and as an immediate motivation for any of my creative activities.
Then there's Ivan Torrent....I love everything he composes and they always make me feel strong and ready for anything.
As you can probably tell, I really really love Julie Elven's vocal work. She has a lovely voice. Combine her vocals with Ivan Torrent's compositions and I'm in heaven. -
@Harmill: Those vocals are sending shivers down my spine. Exactly the type of thing I enjoy. Thanks so much for sharing.

I don't think we crave sadness as much as we can get used to it. If that happens, feeling happy or content can feel off, somehow and we look for ways to go back to the mindset we are used to, even if we know it's toxic.
For me it's getting to the state where I don't have sadness or fear as, well, "low level background noise" anymore.
One thing that helped me immensely was doing a fire walk --- it's about as literal as you can get way to face your fears head on (there are several hours of preparation beforehand). But that's not for everyone.
Now, if it's clinical depression, it's important to get proper treatment, but for those of us who just feel sad even for stretches, counseling and other uplifting tools like great music can work wonders.
We can't change what's going on in the outside world but the vast majority of us do have control over what goes on inside our heads. -
Not exactly epic, but Everclear is probably the one band that I listen to that always puts my mind at ease (which helped a lot for me last year).
