Hello, I have RPG Maker VX Ace on steam and whenever I try to create a new project it crashes on me, this is both in the 'file' tab and the little icon, this also happens when I try to manage projects.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Assumptions that could possibly fix that:
download the rtp for ace.
make sure everything's updated.
if it's just the cloud one crashing the internet might be off.
make sure its the actual steam version(obvious)
If you still have problems i dont see why you couldnt just find a nosteam version if you already bought the thing :/
That should be a last, last resort if the steam one's just not working.
have tried ace on vista, 7 and 8/8.1 and it worked for those so windows not entirely to blame. -
i honestly don't know how to do the uncrossed. I use it on windows server 2008, and it was working fine for a couple of months until a few days ago.download the rtp for ace.

and I don't know how to get the nosteam version -
Whenever I hear such a thing, it's usually because of synchronisation issues inside steam - which means that Steam is still downloading parts of the game or the resources.
Especially if you got Ace with the resource bundle from the humble sale, there might be a lot of still not downloaded resources when you try to start the editor. It depends on your download speed and what your settings really are.
If that happens several hours after installation, then perhaps the synchronisation hangs - rightclick the steam program, steam properties and clear/synchronuce the cache manually -
This happened to me, after it crashed I checked the folder and it created my "new" game, all I had to do was load it up and it seems to be working just fine for now.

The same problem to me when I tried Steam Workshop for RM VX Aсe
To get things working back, I turned off the Workshop in settings.

The cause is in all cases problems with steam download synchronisation, so turning off the workshop (and thereby 99% of the need to synchronise) will solve the problem.
However, I would rather suggest to only turn off the steam cloud and steam updates (all under updates) instead of completely removing the other (non-steam) updates that are also included in the workshop version... -
okay I know this is a very old thread but I have the same problem now it's just so that I use workshop much to my game as if now I want to start it again and then use workshop again what should I do?
