The script in general seems to have problems when calling a collision command from a few different areas, but the fixes are i think all you need when it comes to the characters. 

If any problems arise in the future when using any other part of the script i will update.

These are lovely, and a good example of how you learn over time, they are an improvement to the old tykes. I especially like the shape of the chubby one :3

Something I did with your sprite. Still needs fixing (on the right direction sprites).

I am sticking with these tykes again, while game contains female characters. How far is your female template?

I have not worked on the female much since i last posted, but i'm back, i should have her up soon :)

Zalett, nice :)

You will only have to make some slight edits to it, because i made some edits to the male already.

Good to be away for a while sometimes :p

Anyway, i've made these changes to the Male which just makes the animation more smoother, not to mention i fixed a somewhat big mistake on the side frame.

---Frontal

-You now have feet! feet look better all around now, you guys can see what i did there.

-Added a pixel to the top of that arm swinging back (not counting some shading), makes for a more manly walk eh? 

---Sides

-The big mistake where the arms which swung forward and back, they where not long enough, needed a pixel stretch. This change also makes animation smoother, before that the 2nd frame arm snapped forward.

-Whooo Footies!

-2nd frame, Added pixel to that leg (knee area) which moves back.

-4th frame, removed that mess of dark pixels behind the leg that moved forward, leg also looks more planted on the ground.

--Back

-foot thing all over, but more noticeable when you take a step.

-added pixel (to shoulder area) for arm that moves back, i think it sunk too much the way it was before.

-and i think i took some pixels off the top for the arm moving forward.. ;)

That's all, female on the way soon.

Changed a few pixels on Male ears, they looked like the were drooping before.

Female uploaded, arms don't move totally like male arms either, keep that in mind when spriting folks.

Obese is up.

The last body type is up, next up are more skin colors, character examples, and a full character.

Already working on remaking those old poses, but of coarse i will be adding more.

Child arms edited, they now move a pixel lower on walking frames, like the rest.

some slight edits to the knocked out pose, mainly better defining the jaw as well as the appearance of the neck,  mouth now opened.

Top of head lowered a pixel on knocked out poses, arm look improved on top knockout pose.

That should be the last.

Few more things up there.

And here, a WIP. Takes five minutes, only!.

I like how it's looking so far, especially the hair, the simple hair style also suits the Tyke well.

The shoulder pad has a pillow shading problem i think though, that's where your lightest point is mainly in the center.

Although it's not too important with smaller sprites like this one, something that can help is if  you think about your light source, for the tyke it's the same as the RTP, top left ( though you can have it anywhere you like).

Anyway i've been trying to think of some great tips to give for the last 10 minutes.. :p , but i'm really terrible at giving advice, best thing i can do is to edit your sprite to show you what i mean.

If you don't mind i will send you a pm with changes i'd make to him later on, almost 3 am here, gotta hit the hay.

I've added some more w.i.p material, just creating as i go here, had no image in my head (i don't most of the time :p )

You are so fast., and I am jealous.

Thought i was a slow poke with that first character actually lol, i was a little frustrated when workin on the back of the head, but i got it down after two or three turns. 

I've updated the WIP image, i will leave the older ones up for a while so you guys can see what i change around.

More wip stuff added to the post before!
