Welcome to the project page of Twell. A project that I have started back in 2012. It's not a story based game, it's an action adventure game. It was released in January 2023.

    Woord_About.png

This fantasy adventure is about you as a player waking up in this world named Twell. You don't have any memory from before and the only thing you can do now is explore what this world has to offer.

You will explore 8 unique dungeons, discover many secrets and visit multiple populated locations.

    Quest items
The Q-item will be used in a lot of situations throughout the game. They will help you solving puzzles and reach certain areas. You can use a Q-item by pressing the Q key on your keyboard. You can use the Q+Shift keys on your keyboard to quickly change your Q-item. There will be 6 different Q-items, here are just a few examples:

Makes some light in dark places.

    twell_item02.png
    Break weak floors or stones.

    twell_item03.png
    Shoot arrows for distance targets.

    twell_item04.png
    Grab targets from afar.

    Change your character
The look of the character depends on which equipment you have. All combinations are possible and in some situations you need to equip older equipment.

Some extra challenges can be found in the Main Menu. You can unlock new challenges through your adventure. (Or buy them after you finished the game.)

    Exclusive Twell sprites
This game has some unique sprites. All enemies, big bosses, a full icon set and much more have been made for Twell.

There is much more to show, but it's up to you to discover all features.

Thank you! I'm busy with another project that I can't post here but I'm always working on this project. Someone is making the boss sprites at this moment but I'm not sure if I'm gonna post these boss fights. They are really big and cool so I want the player to experience their first encounter with these monsters. But I can't wait to show it here.
  6. Nice to see that other equipment changes your character. The maps are beautiful and nice art as well. Good luck! :)
  7. First, I want to apologize for announcing this game to early. At the time I was working on Eling: First Dimension which is gonna release this Friday. At the time, it wasn't possible to share Eling: First Dimension on this website. However, I had no idea that Eling: First Dimension took so much of my free time.

Now that Eling: First Dimension is almost done, I am gonna focus more on this game. Just keep in mind that Twell: Sword of Light is far from a release date but expect some more feature details in the future.

    Exclusive L.J. Ware sprites

This game is going to get some amazing enemies and boss battles. Expect some big and scary bosses. These sprites are just a hand full of what's to come.

This is all thanks to the artist Avee.

    twell_sprites01.png

By the way, I fixed the first post a bit.
  9. To give you a small teaser of a boss fight and don't spoil to much for later announcements, here is a screenshot to show how big the bosses are gonna be and this is just one of the bosses that is going to be present in this game. They are exclusive made for this game by Avee. These bosses are one of the most complex sprites this artist has ever made.

  10. Make sure you sometimes discover the environment. Can you find the secret chest in this screenshot?

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_48_2.png
  11. Another screenshot from Twellin City. This is the biggest city of Twell. This map took me a really long time to make. Every character you'll see looks different. You can follow some characters and see what they are doing. You can visits shops, the market, pubs and you can enter a lot of these houses to meet different characters. I'm planning to make sure that there is a lot to do in this city so I hope you're looking forward to explore this location.

One of the easiest goal in this game is to reach this city from your home town. After you accomplished this goal, you can fast travel to this point.

  12. At this moment, I am working with the programmer for this game to create a unique and simple way of showing the start menu. It's going to be what you expect from RPG Maker XP but it's going to look nicer, it's gonna be more accessible and easier to understand. We also work on the smallest details. For example, your HUD will change into white when you enter a cave.

I can't wait to show more details about the script.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_50_2.png
    (This screenshot is not final.)
  13. The game looks simply just beautiful! Great work I must say. I might be a bit biased though... I have always preferred XP over VX ;)
  14. This game is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot wait to see this game released.
  15. Omg this game is absolutely gorgeous, Keep up the great work. I can't wait til i can try it out :)
  16. Thanks for all the kind reactions. I can't wait to show more about this game in the future but I want to make sure that the things I'm showing are as final as possible.
  17. These are the options when you press on the ESC key. I'm using the Ring Menu and the programmer has made some great adjustments to it. The main goal was to make it easy to use for everyone.

For example, when you leave an option and return to the Start Menu, the player returns to his last used option. You can also access the Q-Item option by pressing both the SHIFT+Q keys while playing the game. When you leave, you return to game, not the Start Menu.

I will give more details about each option in the future. Even the simplest options like your Inventory has been optimized for this game.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_51_2.png
    (This screenshot is not final.)
  18. Earlier I showed the Ring Menu. Now I can show two of the options: Items and Skills. Both can be set on 1 to 6 hotkeys.

You can use the items (that are not transparant) by pressing the ENTER key. But, you can also use items easy while you play the game or using them in battle by setting them on one of your six hotkeys. Just select the item and hit the 1 until 6 keys.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_52_2.png

You can also do this with your skills.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_53_2.png

You can use every skill in battle (if you have enough SP) but some skills can be used whenever you want. But what happens if you hit the ENTER key in the skills menu? Well, then you get a list of the skills that are already active on your hotkeys. You can select where you want to put your selected skill.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_54_2.png

It's easy to switch your skill this way and you know what skills are active when you change your hotkeys.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_55_2.png
  19. You can use Q-Items in this game to explore new areas. You can set them with the Shift+Q keys and use it with the Q key. For example, you can create a light with the lantern in this dark cave.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_56_2.png

Still a bit dark don't you think? There are better versions of the same item. Like the Silver Lantern.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_57_2.png

You can see a lot more, like this bat enemy.
  20. I wanted to show the way to the Gomblons, one of the races in this game. When the player discovers the destroyed Sim Village, he can go east to climb the Gomblon Mountain.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_59_2.png

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_60_2.png

There is a cave at the top that leads to Gomblon Town.

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_61_2.png

    Twell_Sword_of_Light_62_2.png

There is a lot to do here for the player but I'm still working on these maps so more information about this town will be revealed later.
