  1. Hey folks!

As an animation/vfx professional, I've been wanting to dive into making games forever. I dabbled as a kid with some ancient software (Klik & Play and later The Games Factory) but haven't done anything like it in well over a decade.

Scored VX Ace during a Steam Sale, and about to snag a cheap PC Latop (as I'm a Mac guy) during Cyber Monday, and hit the ground running heading into the new year.

Psyched to join the community and start following another dream. Hey everyone!

Just check out the tutorials in the VX Ace section while you're waiting on your new laptop.

Good luck in your future projects!

Well seeing your profession I'm sure you already know how tough hard work can be and how hard it is to continue when you might not want to. The is key is -don't- regrets are far too many and blessings are far too little. You will do fine

    Welcome to the gang man!
  5. Welcome to the forums, Taylor!

Hope you enjoy your stay and have fun using RPG Maker VX Ace.
  6. Welcome.  You're going to love it once you get started.  It's alot of work to make a game, but it's fun and worth it.
  7. Welcome to the group!
  8. Welcome to this awesome community, looking forward to test play your project. :) (\s/)
  9. Welcome, Taylor!

Andar has some excellent tutorials.  I recommend doing all of those before trying your hand at your first game.
  10. Thanks for all the tips and support already folks. I'm hoping to do you all proud!

( and also make a game worthy enough to justify purchasing a laptop for it. no pressure lol )
  11. It takes time to become proficient with VX Ace.  The odds are your first game will be a learning project only --- to be thrown away afterwards.  But the more games you make, the more skilled you'll become.
  12. I love the spirit. I think that's the most import. Welcome.
  13. Wow! It seems I've blinked and four years have passed!
I ended up getting swept up in life, but I'm back! Armed with MV, in-between jobs and binging on tutorials. All I can think about now is games and making games; so pumped to be back and excited to post progress as it comes!
    Hope you're all well!
  14. Well you said it yourself. It's been four years.'
You should create a new thread and say hi! Doesn't your return deserve that, than necroposting? :)
